Issues to be noted during the testing process of power quality analyzer
Date: 2025-11-30Read: 2

The tester is equipped with a four core voltage testing line and three current testing pliers (up to six or nine can be equipped as needed). The voltage test line is used to connect the measured voltage signal, and current clamps are used for testing on site. Each current clamp corresponds to a clamp meter interface and cannot be interchanged, otherwise it will affect the testing accuracy. There is a circular label in the middle of each clamp meter, which displays the phase and polarity of the clamp meter (the end marked with N is the current outflow end, pay attention to the polarity when using wiring, as reverse connection will affect the test results).

Issues to be noted during the testing process:

1. Before testing, it is necessary to insert the current test clamp. It is strictly prohibited to clamp the measured signal before inserting it into the current clamp socket. This is equivalent to a secondary open circuit of the current test clamp, which can easily generate high voltage and damage the instrument. After the test is completed, all current testing pliers should be removed first, and then the plug connected to the host should be unplugged.

2. To ensure the accuracy of each channel, the test clamps should be matched one by one, and each current clamp should be correctly inserted into the corresponding socket. Swapping different input sockets can reduce testing accuracy, but after crossing, the testing accuracy generally does not exceed ± 2%.

3. When connecting voltage signals, the test line must be connected to the voltage terminal of the instrument first, and then to the voltage terminal of the tested equipment; After the test is completed, be sure to remove the voltage connector of the tested equipment first, and then remove the voltage wire on the instrument side. (This is particularly important, otherwise it may cause a major accident)

Below are explanations for different testing items.

(1) Measurement of electrical parameters for equipment with three-phase four wire wiring system

1. Test purpose

Detect the signals of three voltage and three current channels of the tested equipment, and use the test data to understand the true situation of the real-time voltage amplitude, current amplitude, active power, reactive power, phase, frequency, and vector relationship between various parameters of the tested equipment; The vector diagrams of six parameters can be displayed on the same screen to determine the operation of the power supply system, facilitating the analysis of fault and line loss causes.

2. Testing method

The specific wiring is shown in the figure: when using the three-phase four wire system wiring method, connect the A-phase voltage of the tested equipment to the A-phase voltage terminal of the instrument with a yellow wire, connect the B-phase voltage of the tested equipment to the B-phase voltage terminal of the instrument with a green wire, connect the C-phase voltage of the tested equipment to the C-phase voltage terminal of the instrument with a red wire, and connect the N-phase voltage of the tested equipment to the Un terminal of the instrument with a black wire; Three clamp type current transformers are used to measure the current of the tested equipment in phases A, B, and C. After connecting the wires, enter the "Test Parameters" screen to view the measurement results.

(2) Measurement of electrical parameters for equipment with three-phase three wire wiring system

1. Test purpose

Detect the signals of the second voltage and second current of the tested equipment, and use the test data to understand the true situation of the real-time voltage amplitude, current amplitude, active power, reactive power, phase, frequency, and vector relationship between various parameters of the tested equipment; The vector diagrams of the four parameters can be displayed on the same screen to determine the operation of the power supply system, facilitating the analysis of the causes of faults and line losses.

2. Testing method

The specific wiring is shown in the diagram: in the three-phase three wire system wiring method, only three voltage wires are used. The yellow wire connects the A-phase voltage terminals of the tested equipment and the instrument, the green wire connects the B-phase voltage terminals of the tested equipment and the instrument, and the red wire connects the C-phase voltage terminals of the tested equipment and the instrument; A. Two clamp type current transformers are used to measure the A and C phases of the measured device current. After connecting the wires, enter the "Test Parameters" screen to view the measurement results.

(3) Waveform display measurement section

1. Test purpose

Through this project, the waveforms of various parameters can be displayed, the phase relationship (leading or lagging) between various parameters can be understood, the distortion of waveforms can be observed, the causes of distortion can be analyzed, and PT and CT can be overloaded.

2. Testing method

According to the different wiring methods of the tested equipment, different wiring should be carried out:

The equipment with three-phase four wire wiring method shall be wired according to the testing wiring diagram of the three-phase four wire system equipment;

The equipment with three-phase three wire wiring method shall be wired according to the testing wiring diagram of the three-phase three wire system equipment.

After connecting the wires, enter the "waveform display" interface for testing.

(4) Spectrum analysis and measurement section

1. Test purpose

This function is used to display a bar chart of the 1-32nd harmonic content of each phase voltage parameter and each phase current parameter, as well as the percentage of harmonic content of each parameter (1-64), total harmonic distortion, and other indicators, in order to judge the quality of the phase voltage or current power.

2. Testing method

According to the different wiring methods of the tested equipment, different wiring should be carried out:

The equipment with three-phase four wire wiring method shall be wired according to the testing wiring diagram of the three-phase four wire system equipment;

The equipment with three-phase three wire wiring method shall be wired according to the testing wiring diagram of the three-phase three wire system equipment.

After connecting the wires, enter the "Spectrum Analysis" interface for testing.
