Application of laboratory reactors in hydrogenation, oxidation, and carbonylation synthesis
Date: 2025-12-04Read: 2
Laboratory reactors play a crucial role in hydrogenation, oxidation, and carbonylation synthesis, promoting efficient and safe chemical reactions by precisely controlling reaction conditions.
In hydrogenation reactions, laboratory reactors (especially hydrogenation reactors) are the core equipment. It achieves uniform mixing of reactants, catalysts, and hydrogen through a magnetic driven stirring system, and is equipped with high-precision temperature and pressure control systems to ensure that the reaction proceeds at the set temperature and pressure. For example, in reactions such as the hydrogenation of olefins to alkanes and the hydrogenation of aldehydes and ketones to alcohols, hydrogenation reactors can accurately control hydrogen pressure, reaction temperature, and stirring rate to improve reaction rate and product selectivity. In addition, it has excellent sealing performance, using mechanical or magnetic seals to prevent hydrogen leakage and ensure experimental safety.
In the oxidation reaction, the laboratory oxidation reactor promotes the oxidation reaction through high temperature and high pressure conditions. It is suitable for three-phase reactions of gas and liquid, gas and gas, as well as gas liquid solid, such as the oxidation of organic compounds to produce compounds such as alcohols, aldehydes, and ketones, or the oxidation, desulfurization, and denitrification of organic compounds in waste gas treatment. The oxidation reaction kettle adopts a horseshoe shaped magnetic drive stirrer with a static seal and no leakage, and the stirring bearing is corrosion-resistant, suitable for stirring reactions of liquid media with low viscosity, ensuring stable and controllable reaction process.
In carbonylation synthesis, the high-pressure catalyst evaluation reactor is a key equipment. The carbonylation reaction requires the introduction of carbonyl groups (C=O) under high pressure conditions, such as methanol carbonylation to synthesize acetic acid. High pressure reactors promote reaction progress, improve selectivity, and yield by precisely controlling temperature, pressure, and catalyst dosage. It is equipped with built-in thermocouples and magnetic stirring systems to ensure uniform reaction temperature and sufficient contact of reactants.
