The high-temperature d33 test is a testing method used to evaluate the piezoelectric performance of piezoelectric materials in high-temperature environments
Date: 2025-07-03Read: 1
The high-temperature d33 test is a testing method used to evaluate the piezoelectric properties of piezoelectric materials (such as piezoelectric ceramics and polymer materials) in high-temperature environments, mainly measuring the characteristics of their piezoelectric constant d33 changing with temperature. By measuring the piezoelectric properties of piezoelectric materials in high-temperature environments using dynamic or static methods, the d33 parameter variation curves (i.e. piezoelectric spectra) of the materials at different temperatures can be obtained, allowing for analysis of key indicators such as high-temperature stability and dielectric properties.
D33 is an important performance parameter of piezoelectric materials, which represents the ratio of the charge density generated on the electrode surface to the stress when the material is subjected to external forces in the polarization direction (Z-axis). The high-temperature d33 test aims to analyze the law of d33 changing with temperature, namely the piezoelectric temperature spectrum, and provide data support for the high-temperature application of materials.
The testing principle is based on the piezoelectric effect: when a piezoelectric material is subjected to external force, polarization occurs internally, and opposite positive and negative charges appear on the surface. By measuring the amount of charge generated by the material under stress and combining it with the applied stress, the d33 value can be calculated. In high-temperature environments, it is necessary to consider the interference of pyroelectric effect on test results and take corresponding measures to eliminate it.
Application scenarios
Mainly used to study the influence of high temperature conditions on the properties of piezoelectric materials, such as:
Aerospace field: Evaluating the reliability of piezoelectric components in high-temperature environments
Energy material development: optimizing energy conversion efficiency under high-temperature working conditions
Materials Science: Exploring the Feasibility of New High Temperature Piezoelectric Materials
Analysis of Test Results
Piezoelectric Thermogram: By plotting the temperature dependent curve of d33, the high-temperature piezoelectric properties of the material are visually displayed. Analyze the trend of curve changes and determine the stability of material performance in different temperature ranges.
Performance evaluation: Based on the test results, evaluate whether the high-temperature piezoelectric performance of the material meets the application requirements. For materials whose performance does not meet the requirements, further analysis of the reasons, such as material composition, preparation process, etc., is needed, and improvement measures should be proposed.
Comparative analysis: Compare and analyze the test results of different materials or preparation processes to identify the reasons for performance differences. Provide strong support for the optimization design and application development of materials.
