Common problems and solutions of aluminum alloy die-casting mold temperature machine, a must-have for beginners
Date: 2025-12-08Read: 0

In the production of aluminum alloy die-casting, the aluminum alloy die-casting mold temperature machine is the core equipment for controlling mold temperature and ensuring product quality. Novice operators often encounter various malfunctions due to unfamiliarity with equipment principles and improper operation, which not only affect production efficiency but may also damage the equipment. This article summarizes the 5 most common problems and corresponding solutions of aluminum alloy die-casting mold temperature machines, helping beginners quickly avoid pitfalls and maintain them efficiently.

Inaccurate temperature control, fluctuating high and low
This is the most common problem encountered by beginners, manifested as a deviation of more than ± 3 ℃ between the set temperature and the actual mold temperature, resulting in defects such as shrinkage and deformation in the die-casting parts. The main causes include: insufficient or deteriorated thermal conductive medium, temperature sensor failure, and improper parameter settings of the temperature controller. Solution: Firstly, check the liquid level of the heat transfer oil or water to ensure it is between the scale lines. If the medium has been used for more than 6 months, it should be replaced in a timely manner to avoid excessive impurities affecting the heat transfer efficiency; Next, check if the sensor probe is loose or damaged. If the probe has carbon buildup, it needs to be cleaned. If it is damaged, replace it with a sensor of the same model; Finally, adjust the parameters of the temperature controller. The novice suggests to use the "PID self-tuning" function to let the equipment automatically optimize the temperature rise curve, so as to avoid temperature fluctuations caused by frequent manual adjustment.
The device cannot start or immediately shuts down after starting
This type of problem is often related to circuits and pressure, and beginners may easily mistake it for equipment failure. Common reasons include unstable power supply voltage, failure to reset emergency stop button, insufficient circulating pump pressure, and triggering of overload protection. Solution steps: First check if the power socket and wires are in good contact, measure the voltage with a multimeter to ensure it meets the rated voltage of the equipment (usually 380V three-phase power); Check the emergency stop button on the control panel again and rotate it clockwise to reset; Next, check the pressure gauge of the circulation pump. If the pressure is below 0.1MPa, it may be due to pipeline leakage or insufficient medium. After supplementing the medium, exhaust and tighten the pipeline interface; If overload protection is triggered, wait for the device to cool down, check if the cooling fan is working properly, clean the dust from the cooling port, and avoid the protection starting due to overheating.
Leakage of thermal conductive medium
Leakage not only causes waste, but may also pose safety hazards, with the main leakage points concentrated at pipeline interfaces, seals, and valves. Novices need to focus on checking: loose joints, aging sealing gaskets, and damaged valves. Solution: Regularly check the pipeline joints and tighten them moderately with a wrench (to avoid damaging the threads with excessive force); Replace the aging sealing ring, it is recommended to use high temperature resistant and corrosion-resistant fluororubber material; If the valve leaks, replace it with a valve of the same specification in a timely manner. Before replacement, turn off the power supply of the equipment and the inlet and outlet valves of the medium, and drain the residual medium.
Heating efficiency decreases, slow heating up
This type of problem can lead to a prolonged production cycle, caused by factors such as scaling of heating tubes, damage to heating tubes, and poor insulation effect. Solution: Regularly clean the scale and oil stains on the surface of the heating tube, which can be cleaned by circulating citric acid solution and rinsing with clean water after cleaning; Use a multimeter to check the heating tube. If the resistance value is abnormal (open circuit or short circuit), replace the heating tube; Check the insulation layer of the mold and pipeline. If the insulation layer is damaged or falls off, repair or replace it in a timely manner to reduce heat loss.
Frequent triggering of alarm faults
Novices often feel at a loss when faced with alarm prompts. Common types of alarms include low liquid level alarm, over temperature alarm, and pressure alarm. Principle of handling: First, check the equipment manual and locate the problem based on the alarm code; Low liquid level alarm requires timely replenishment of thermal conductive medium and inspection for any leakage points; The over temperature alarm can pause the device, and after the temperature drops to a safe range, check the temperature controller parameters and sensors; Pressure alarm requires checking whether the circulation pump and pipeline are blocked, cleaning impurities in the filter, and ensuring smooth circulation of the medium.
The core of operating an aluminum alloy die-casting mold temperature machine for beginners is "regular inspection, standardized operation, and timely maintenance". In daily use, cultivate the habit of checking the liquid level, pressure, and temperature before class, and avoid illegal operations (such as starting without a medium or modifying parameters arbitrarily). When encountering problems, first investigate the simple causes (such as loose joints or insufficient media), then gradually deal with complex faults, and if necessary, contact the manufacturer's technical support. Mastering solutions to these common problems can effectively improve equipment stability and ensure smooth die-casting production.
