Precise installation, guarding the flow channel: installation essentials of stainless steel micro resistance slow closing check valve
Date: 2025-09-25Read: 38
In fluid transport systems,Stainless steel micro resistance slow closing check valves play a crucial role as "safety guards".With its stainless steel material's corrosion resistance and unique "micro resistance slow closing" structure, it can not only effectively prevent medium backflow, but also eliminate the water hammer impact generated when ordinary check valves are closed, protecting the safety of pipelines and equipment. However, its good performance largely depends on whether it is installed correctly and standardly. A carefully planned installation is a prerequisite for ensuring its long-term stable operation.

1、 Precise preparation before installation: laying the foundation for safety
To do a good job, one must first sharpen their tools. The preparation work before installation is the foundation for ensuring the subsequent process.
1. On site inspection: Firstly, it is necessary to verify whether the valve model, specifications, and pressure rating match all the pipeline design drawings. Carefully inspect the valve body, valve cover, valve disc and other components for any damage during transportation, and clean the valve cavity to ensure that there are no debris residues.
2. Pipeline preparation: Prior to installation, the connected pipeline system must be flushed and purged to remove all welding slag, iron filings, and other impurities, in order to prevent these foreign objects from damaging the sealing surface or obstructing valve disc movement. At the same time, confirm that the flange surface of the pipeline is flat, clean, and consistent with the distance and diameter of the valve flange holes.
3. Orientation confirmation: Stainless steel micro resistance slow closing check valves have strict installation direction requirements. The flow direction arrow clearly marked on the valve body (usually from bottom to top or horizontal direction) must be absolutely consistent with the actual flow direction of the medium in the pipeline. Any reverse installation will cause the valve to fail completely.
2、 Standardized execution of installation process: precise positioning is key
The installation process requires rigorous operation techniques and meticulous adjustments, with the core being to ensure alignment and sealing.
1. Lifting and positioning: Use professional lifting tools to smoothly lift and move the valve between the flanges. It is strictly prohibited to use handwheels or valve stems as lifting points to avoid irreversible deformation and damage. Manually slightly opening the valve disc can make the positioning process smoother.
2. Bolt tightening: First manually screw in all bolts to ensure good thread engagement. Subsequently, use a torque wrench to evenly tighten the flange connection bolts using the method of "diagonal alternating, staged pre tightening". This can effectively prevent uneven force from causing poor sealing of the flange surface or deformation of the valve body cavity, which can affect the sealing performance.
3. Bypass and Support: For valves with large diameters or installed on vertical pipelines, sturdy pipe supports or support hangers must be installed near the valve body. It is absolutely forbidden to use the valve itself to bear the weight of the pipeline, as additional stress can cause deformation, internal leakage, and even structural damage to the valve body.
3、 Debugging and acceptance after installation: final inspection before startup
Installation in place is not the end point, the final debugging of the system is the final step in verifying successful installation.
1. System pressure test: When conducting pressure tests on pipeline systems, it is necessary to ensure that the valve disc of the check valve is in the open state. If it is subjected to blind plate isolation or overpressure testing with the valve disc closed, it is highly likely to damage its sealing pair and slow closing device.
2. Function verification: After the system is connected to the medium, observe whether the valve opens and closes flexibly and smoothly. Listening to its closing process, there should be no violent impact sound, indicating that the slow closing function is effectively eliminating water hammer. Check for leaks at the connections of valve covers, flanges, etc.
3. Recording and identification: After installation, the valve position and number should be accurately marked on the pipeline drawing for future maintenance and repair.
In summary, the installation of stainless steel micro resistance slow closing check valves is a meticulous work that combines technical knowledge, rigorous attitude, and standardized operation. The precise implementation of each step is a solid investment in the safe, stable, and long-lasting operation of the pipeline system. Only by adhering to standards can the exquisite design of "micro resistance slow closing" truly become a reliable barrier to protect the flow channel.
