Installation guide for air pollution monitoring instrument: key steps for scientific layout and standardized operation
Date: 2025-11-24Read: 0
In scenes such as chemical industrial parks, nuclear facilities, underground civil defense projects, and wartime protective shelters,The air pollution monitoring device is the core warning equipment for preventing the leakage of toxic and harmful gases. The installation quality directly affects the accuracy of monitoring data and the timeliness of early warning, and a standardized installation process is the primary link to maximize equipment efficiency.

1、 Preparation before installation: Environmental assessment and plan formulation
Before installation, a comprehensive on-site assessment is required to clarify monitoring objectives and core requirements: first, determine the typical types of toxic agents that need to be protected, and select the matching monitoring instrument model based on the characteristics of the toxic agents; Secondly, investigate the installation environment - avoid strong electromagnetic interference sources, high-temperature heat sources, and corrosive gas sources, ensure that the installation location is well ventilated and can represent the actual poisoning situation in the monitored area. At the same time, according to the spatial layout of the protected area, the monitoring network needs to be planned: in open spaces, multi-point distributed installation is required (with intervals of 50-100 meters), while in closed environments, it needs to be arranged in layers at the air inlet, personnel activity area, and air outlet.
2、 Installation location selection: precise coverage, safety and convenience
The installation location of the air pollution monitoring device should follow the three principles of "representativeness, safety, and maintainability":
1. Representativeness: Priority should be given to areas with stable airflow and the ability to first come into contact with toxic gases, such as the outer side of upwind ventilation openings in chemical workshops, the entrance of air ducts in underground civil air defense projects, and near personnel entrances and exits.
2. Safety: The recommended installation height is 1.5-2 meters above the ground, avoiding installation near or on top of the ground. For places where liquid accumulation may occur, rain covers should be installed and drainage should be ensured to be unobstructed.
3. Maintainability: A space of at least 0.5 meters should be reserved around the equipment for easy replacement of sensors, calibration of probes, or maintenance of circuits in the future; If installed outdoors, a rain shelter or protective box needs to be built.
3、 Installation process and debugging points
1. Fixed equipment: Choose the appropriate installation method based on the equipment model - wall mounted fixed to the wall with expansion screws, column mounted fixed to the ground with anchor bolts, and pipe mounted embedded in ventilation ducts through flange connections.
2. Connection line: Connect the power line and signal transmission line. When installing outdoors, waterproof sleeves should be added to the line to avoid rainwater short circuits.
3. Air path debugging: If the equipment is equipped with a sampling pump or a diffusion type air inlet, it is necessary to check whether the air inlet channel is unobstructed, and the diffusion type sensor should ensure that the surrounding air flows freely.
4. Calibration and testing: After installation, use standard toxic gas to calibrate the zero point and range of the sensor, simulate poisoning scenarios to trigger alarm functions. During daily operation, it is necessary to regularly verify baseline stability with zero point gas and recalibrate with standard gas every quarter to ensure accuracy.
From environmental assessment to precise debugging, the installation of air pollution monitoring devices is not only a physical fixation of the equipment, but also a scientific response to protection needs. Standardized operating procedures and rigorous detail control can establish the first line of defense for toxic gas leakage warning, safeguarding the safety bottom line of personnel and the environment.
