Why do electrochemical workstations need to be grounded
Date: 2025-06-12Read: 1
Electrochemical workstationIt is the abbreviation of electrochemical measurement system, which is essentially an instrument device used to control and detect changes in electrochemical cell current and potential, as well as other electrochemical parameters. It is a commonly used measuring equipment in electrochemical research and teaching, mainly divided into two categories: single channel electrochemical workstation and multi-channel electrochemical workstation. It combines the constant potential meter, constant current meter, and electrochemical AC impedance organically, and can achieve routine tests of the three basic functions, as well as programmed tests based on these three basic functions. It is widely used in biotechnology, qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances, etc.
Key points of operation and maintenance:
Calibration and troubleshooting:
Regularly verify the reference electrode potential to prevent drift;
Priority should be given to checking the power supply (>400mA) and grounding status of the USB port for communication faults.
Sensitive sample testing:
Ultra microelectrodes need to be connected to microcurrent amplifiers and shielding boxes to suppress noise (pA level measurement);
Titanium alloy electrolytic cells are selected for strong corrosion systems to avoid pollution.
Why do electrochemical workstations need to be grounded?
1) Avoid inducing displacement current in the internal circuit of the device under strong electric fields, and protect human and machine safety.
2) Grounding the casing of electronic devices can also reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and improve the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) indicators of electronic devices.
3) Thus improving the anti-interference ability of the test, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the results.
