  Headspace injection bottleIt is often used in our experiments, but many people are not very familiar with it. Today, let's take a look together! Simply put, headspace analysis is the analysis of gases present in headspace injection bottles, and the laboratory bottles used for headspace analysis are referred to as headspace injection bottles. The essence of this experiment is that the volatile sample is heated, volatilized, and vaporized to form gas in the space at the top of the sample bottle, which then diffuses, allowing the top gas above the volatile sample in the gas chromatography bottle to enter the gas phase for detection.
When detecting volatile compounds or semi volatile mixtures with high boiling points, we need to heat them to vaporize the substance at the top. During this process, due to the liquid (solid or solid-liquid coexistence) sample being located at the bottom, substances in the top gas can be measured without touching the liquid inside the sample bottle. Top space gas chromatography is suitable for sample analysis of light component volatiles. This measurement technique can effectively analyze the gas in the top space of liquid samples and be applied in solid-phase dispersion methods. Top space gas analysis also helps with automated quality control or sample screening. This is achieved through the use of modern instruments and highly renewable samples, allowing for accurate analysis of the entire experiment. It should be noted that complex sample matrices are not easily analyzed directly unless sample extraction solutions or formulations are used, but this can be a significant waste of time and resources! So it is possible to choose gas phase detection, and using a high temperature resistance and high stability headspace injection bottle during the process is the ideal choice. In this way, the sample can be directly placed in the headspace injection bottle for heating analysis without any preparation, which saves both time and money.
The headspace sampling bottle can hold 50-60ml of liquid product. The bottle mouth adopts a spiral mouth, equipped with a spiral aluminum cap and a butyl rubber stopper or silicone stopper. The butyl rubber stopper is generally used for pharmaceutical packaging and has the advantages of single composition, good chemical stability, non-toxic and odorless; Silicone plugs are generally used on products with strong corrosiveness, possessing high corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and no harm to the human body. The color is divided into brown and transparent. Brown can avoid light and is produced by molding. It has a thick wall, good mechanical ability, and is not fragile.
To achieve ideal performance with headspace GC, careful attention should be paid to sample preparation and instrument setup. The headspace injection bottle and cap are very important and often overlooked, and should also be prepared for element headspace analysis. It is important to ensure the use of the correct bottles and caps!
