Zero level air generators, as the core equipment for supplying high-purity gases, are widely used in precision experimental scenarios such as chromatographic analysis and mass spectrometry detection. Its stable operation is directly related to the accuracy of experimental data, and the following key details need to be strictly controlled when using it:
1、 Preliminary preparation and installation
The equipment should be placed in a dry and ventilated independent space, away from heat sources and corrosive substances, with sufficient heat dissipation gaps reserved. Before use, it is necessary to remove the transportation fixing device, check the sealing of each interface, and confirm that there are no obstructions at the air inlet. It is recommended to use inert materials (such as stainless steel or PTFE) for connecting pipelines to avoid the release of organic matter from plastic pipes and air pollution. If equipped with an external air compressor, it is necessary to synchronously check the status of the oil-water separator to prevent oil contamination from entering the system with compressed air.
2、 Startup and parameter settings
After powering on, perform a self check program and observe whether the control panel indicator lights are normal. The initialization phase requires setting an output pressure threshold, typically within a specific range required by zero level air standards. After starting the compressor, gradually adjust it to the target pressure to avoid sudden high-pressure impact on the filter element. Pay special attention to the pre cooling time of the refrigerated dryer, and enter the adsorption tower workflow when the dew point temperature drops below the set value. For multi-stage filtration systems, it is necessary to activate components such as activated carbon beds and molecular sieve towers in order to ensure that each process is fully functional.
3、 Operation monitoring and maintenance
Real time monitoring of exhaust purity monitor data, with a focus on hydrocarbon compounds (THC), moisture, and particulate matter indicators. When any indicator approaches the warning line, immediately switch to the backup channel and troubleshoot. Record daily operation logs, including pressure fluctuation curves, cumulative gas consumption, and alarm events. Regular replacement of consumables is key to maintaining performance: it is recommended to replace activated carbon every certain period of time, adjust the cycle of molecular sieves according to usage frequency, and clean or replace the pre filter in a timely manner when it is clogged. Before replacing consumables, it is necessary to turn off the gas source and release residual pressure.
4、 Special working condition handling
When restarting after a long shutdown, it is necessary to first blow off residual impurities in the pipeline, and then gradually increase the pressure for testing. If there is a sudden drop in output flow, priority should be given to checking if the condensate drain pipe is unobstructed, followed by checking if the filter is saturated. When encountering abnormal fluctuations in purity, the segmented isolation method can be used to locate the problem module - by turning off a certain level of filtering and observing changes in indicators, the failed component can be quickly locked in. For continuous operation scenarios, it is recommended to configure redundant units to achieve seamless switching.
5、 Security Protection and Emergency Response
It is strictly prohibited to stack flammable materials around the equipment, and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers should be equipped. Regularly inspect the insulation layer of electrical circuits to avoid short circuits caused by moisture. Set an emergency stop button to immediately cut off the gas source in case of sudden overpressure or leakage. Waste filter cartridges are classified as hazardous waste and must be disposed of in accordance with chemical management regulations. Random disposal is strictly prohibited.
The efficient operation of a zero level air generator relies on attention to detail. From planning the installation environment to standardizing daily operations, from precise parameter settings to timely maintenance, every step directly affects the final gas purity. Establishing standardized operating procedures and strengthening personnel training are necessary to fully utilize equipment efficiency and provide reliable support for high-precision experiments.
