The Roboz needle clamp, as the core instrument for clamping suture needles in surgical procedures, has a precise structure, flexible joints, and fine occlusal surfaces. Its cleaning quality directly affects sterilization effectiveness and patient safety. If the cleaning is not done properly, residual blood, tissue, or lubricant will form a biofilm, which not only hinders the penetration of sterilization factors but may also cause cross infection. Therefore, following the scientific and standardized cleaning process of Roboz needle clamps is a key method to ensure their functional integrity and clinical safety.

1、 Instant pre-processing after use
After the surgery, the needle forceps should be immediately soaked in a closed container containing a multi enzyme cleaning solution (time ≤ 1 hour) to prevent blood and protein from drying up. Do not soak in physiological saline for a long time to prevent chloride ions from corroding the surface of stainless steel. If immediate cleaning is not possible, wet non-woven fabric can be used to wrap the clamp end to prevent contamination from hardening.
2、 Hand cleaning
In a dedicated cleaning tank, first rinse the surface with flowing soft water to remove large particles of dirt; Then open the needle clamp to above 90 ° and use a soft bristled brush (recommended nylon material) to scrub the shaft joints, tooth grooves, occlusal surfaces, and internal cavity gaps, ensuring that the multi enzyme cleaning solution is fully penetrated. The cleaning water temperature should be controlled at 30-45 ℃. If it is too high, it can cause protein coagulation, while if it is too low, it can reduce enzyme activity. Wear puncture resistant gloves throughout the entire process to avoid sharp injuries.
3、 Ultrasonic assisted cleaning
For needle clamps with complex structures (such as those with locks or spring devices), it is recommended to clean them with ultrasound in a multi enzyme solution for 5-10 minutes (frequency 35-45kHz). The ultrasonic cavitation effect can effectively remove small residues deep in the joint, significantly improving the cleaning qualification rate. Pay attention to placing the equipment in a suspended position to avoid stacking, collision, and damage to the cutting edge.
4、 Rinsing and final treatment
After ultrasonic treatment, rinse three times with flowing deionized water or pure water to remove enzyme solution and residual ions, and prevent spot corrosion. Check the clamp body for any bloodstains, rust, water stains, or functional abnormalities (such as opening and closing stutters, bite misalignment). Dry with a low fiber cloth or hot air, and do not air dry naturally to prevent water stains from depositing.
5、 Lubrication and handover
After passing the cleaning, it can be immersed in water-soluble medical lubricant (pH neutral) for 30 seconds to protect joint flexibility, but it is necessary to ensure compatibility with subsequent sterilization procedures. After drying, place it in a specialized equipment basket with clear markings and promptly send it to the Disinfection Supply Center (CSSD) for packaging and sterilization.
