How to determine if Siemens EDI module needs to be replaced
Date: 2025-11-19Read: 1

judgmentSiemens EDI moduleWhether replacement is necessary can be comprehensively considered from multiple aspects such as water quality, operating parameters, appearance, and service life. The following is a detailed introduction:

1. In terms of water quality of the produced water

Specific manifestations of non-compliance with resistivity standards:EDI moduleThe main function is to produce high-purity water, and under normal circumstances, the electrical resistivity of the produced water should be able to reach a stable and high value. If it is found through testing that the water resistance rate of the produced water is consistently lower than the standard value of the module design, even after chemical cleaning and maintenance, it still cannot be restored to normal levels, indicating that there may be a problem with the module.

2. In terms of operating parameters

Specific manifestations of abnormal operating pressure: During normal operation, the inlet pressure, concentrated water pressure, and fresh water pressure of the module have relatively stable ranges. If there is excessive pressure fluctuation, such as sudden increase in inlet pressure or abnormal increase in pressure difference between concentrated and fresh water, it may be due to blockage or damage to membrane components inside the module.

3. In terms of appearance condition

Specific manifestations of module shell damage: Carefully inspect the module shell for cracks, deformation, or damage. Damage to the casing may cause water leakage inside the module, affecting its normal operation, and may also allow external impurities to enter the module, further damaging internal components.

4. In terms of service life and maintenance history

Specific manifestations of reaching the design service life: Siemens EDI modules usually have a certain design service life, usually around 5-10 years, depending on the usage environment and operating conditions. When the module reaches or approaches the design service year X, key components such as resin and membrane components inside will experience varying degrees of aging and performance degradation.
