The correct operating steps and precautions for portable formaldehyde detectors
Date: 2025-11-07Read: 2
Portable formaldehyde detectorCan be paired with up to 6 types of sensors for more flexible detection; Equipped with temperature and pressure compensation, it can compensate for gas concentration under different temperature and pressure environments; Equipped with self calibration function and zero point calibration function, gas monitoring is more accurate and reliable.
Correct operating steps and precautions:
1、 Preparation before testing
Environmental requirements: Before testing, doors and windows must be closed, and the indoor environment must be kept sealed for 12 hours with a temperature controlled between 25-30 ℃.
Instrument calibration: When using for the first time or not using for a long time, it is necessary to let it sit in a well ventilated outdoor place for 5-10 minutes, and long press the zero button (such as the ESC button) to calibrate the value.
Check battery level: Ensure that the battery is fully charged, and some devices may require the installation of a No. 5 battery.
2、 Operation steps
Power on and preheating: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn on the device. Some devices require preheating for 120 seconds.
Place the test strip: Insert the white test strip facing the front of the instrument into the top, and hear a "click" sound to indicate that it is installed in place.
Start detection: Short press the detection button to enter the countdown of the instrument (such as 600 seconds or 8 minutes).
Reading result: After the countdown ends, the screen displays the formaldehyde concentration (usually in ppm or mg/m ³).
3、 Selection of detection points
Key areas: 30-50 centimeters away from the wall and 1.2-1.5 meters in height (near the breathing zone).
Near furniture: Avoid air vents and heat sources inside the cabinet or at a distance of 20-30 centimeters from the surface.
Multi area coverage: 2-3 points are evenly distributed in different corners every 50 square meters.
4、 Precautions
Avoid interference: keep away from volatile substances such as detergent and perfume during detection.
Stable reading: Stay at each point for 5-10 minutes until the data stabilizes before recording.
Regular maintenance: Clean the sensor after use to avoid dust affecting accuracy.
