The 2025 International Symposium for Young Scholars in Metallurgical Processes and the 2025 China Japan Korea Young Academic Symposium on Steel Materials were successfully held in Tangshan City, Hebei Province from September 19 to September 22, 2025. This conference is hosted by the Chinese Society of Metals and organized by North China University of Science and Technology, Northeastern University, and Yanzhao Iron and Steel Laboratory.

A total of 5 conference presentations will be arranged for this meeting, with separate sessions for IMPROWYS 2025 and SWYS 2025, including 10 themed sessions. It is expected that more than 50 oral presentations will be given. The seminar topics cover: additive manufacturing and welding, steel smelting, solidification process, microstructure and mechanical properties, physical metallurgy, cyclic and sustainable metallurgy, as well as cutting-edge directions such as martensite/bainite/ferrite, hydrogen embrittlement, material degradation and advanced characterization, heterogeneity and lightweight steel, high-strength steel, etc.

The International Metallurgical Process Young Scholars Symposium (IMPROWYS) has been successfully held for four consecutive years in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023, and the China Japan Korea Steel Materials Youth Academic Symposium (SWYS) will be held in 2025.
