Bulk packing materialCore performance parameters:
Specific surface area (a): The surface area per unit volume of filler (m ²/m ³), which directly affects the gas-liquid contact area.
Void fraction (ε): The proportion of void volume in the packing layer (usually 60% -95%). The higher the void fraction, the smaller the pressure drop, but it may reduce mass transfer efficiency.
Bulk density (ρ -b): The mass of packing per unit volume (kg/m ³), which affects the weight and cost of the tower. The packing density of ceramic fillers is about 600-800kg/m ³, and that of plastic fillers is about 200-400kg/m ³.
Pressure drop (Δ P): The pressure loss (Pa/m) of gas passing through the packing layer, which is related to the shape of the packing, gas velocity, and liquid load. Low pressure drop packing is suitable for high air volume scenarios.
Mass transfer efficiency (H_ETP): The lower the plate height value, the higher the separation efficiency. Efficient fillers (such as corrugated metal orifice plate fillers) can have a low H_ETP of up to 0.2m.
Classification:
Ceramic bulk fillers: including ceramic ball rings, ceramic step rings, etc., with high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature stability and other characteristics, suitable for high corrosion and high temperature applications.
Plastic bulk fillers, such as plastic ball rings, plastic step rings, etc., have high specific surface area, high flux, reduced pressure, high operational flexibility, and high separation efficiency.
Metal bulk packing: There are stainless steel ball rings, stainless steel step rings, etc., which have the characteristics of high strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., and perform well in the fields of high temperature, high pressure, and high flow rate.
