Repeated experiments are monotonous, practical filters
Date: 2018-08-08Read: 0

Four small assistants have arrived as scheduled, bringing practical technical tips related to chromatographic consumables to everyone. The content involves the selection, use, maintenance, and upkeep of chromatographic columns and pre-treatment products. Practical knowledge, not to be missed!
Hello, Hello everyone, it's time for the editor to start working again. After several weeks of continuous rainy weather, the sun has finally come to an end and the sun has returned to work.
Speaking of which, my colleagues in the laboratory are relatively happy. We have been exposed to the light of the instruments. Has the air conditioning in your laboratory been fully turned on?

Doing repetitive experiments every day, we always want to find surprises in silent places, such as learning more knowledge, analyzing experimental results more, and gaining valuable experience to improve our professional level. Have you encountered any of the following situations when doing GC or GC/MS?
1. The new column has high loss after aging.
2. Baseline abnormalities, such as high noise levels.
These small anomalies are all indicating that there may be a problem with the carrier gas.

GC instruments have high requirements for the purity of the carrier gas, usually 5 9s (99.999%) of high-purity carrier gas. When the laboratory does not have this condition, some teachers may choose to use a gas generator, and the purity of the prepared carrier gas is generally around 4 9s (99.99%). Impurities in the carrier gas, such as water, oxygen, and hydrocarbons, can cause various abnormalities and even damage our chromatography column if they enter the column for a long time.
So, in order to minimize the impact of these impurities on the chromatographic column and spectrum, we usually add an item called a gas filter to the gas path, which can effectively improve these problems, ensure the accuracy of our experimental results, and effectively extend the service life of the chromatographic column.

01. Product knowledge:1. Common gas filters on the market are single-layer cylinders, and the adsorption packing inside can be exchanged with the outside in a small amount through the cylinder, which greatly reduces the service life of the filter. Our ultra clean cylinder filter is designed with a double-layer structure, and the inner glass material effectively isolates the packing and indicator. Inert gas is filled in between the two layers, effectively reducing the chance of contact between the packing and the outside air, thereby greatly improving the service life of the filter.
2. The indicator is sensitive and can accurately indicate whether the filter is saturated by color recognition.
3. It has diversified designs such as single base and three base, which can meet various needs.
4. The replacement operation is convenient and fast.
5. Suitable for most manufacturers' instrument gas circuits.
