In the fields of natural product extraction, pharmaceutical purification, and fine chemical engineering, countercurrent extractors have become the core equipment for laboratory and pilot production due to their high separation efficiency and continuous operation advantages. Its complex fluid pathways and precision components require high maintenance, neglecting maintenance not only affects extraction efficiency, but also easily leads to cross contamination or equipment damage. Mastering the scientific maintenance methods of the countercurrent extractor is the key to ensuring its normal use.

Key 1: Shutdown cleaning to eliminate residue
After each run, cleaning must be carried out. First, rinse the extraction column and pipeline with suitable solvents (such as ethanol, acetone) to remove residual organic phase, and then rinse the aqueous channel with deionized water to prevent crystallization or microbial growth. For high viscosity samples, it is recommended to add a backwash procedure to ensure that there is no liquid accumulation in the dead corners.
Key 2: Centrifugal system maintenance to ensure stable rotational speed
The core of countercurrent extraction is the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation. Regularly check the lubrication of motor bearings and replenish high-temperature grease every 500 hours. If abnormal vibration or noise occurs during operation, the machine should be stopped immediately to check whether the rotor is balanced and whether the fixing bolts are loose, in order to avoid seal wear caused by eccentricity.
Key 3: Seal the system to detect leaks and strictly prevent "leakage"
Long term operation of equipment is prone to problems such as aging of sealing rings and loose joints. It is recommended to check each interface, valve, and rotating seal for leaks every week. If aging sealing rings are found, they should be replaced in a timely manner. It is recommended to use solvent resistant fluororubber material to improve durability.
Key 4: Distributor and Collector Calibration
The accuracy of automatic distributors directly affects the accuracy of component collection. Use standard measuring tools to calibrate the droplet volume and collection location every month to ensure segmented collection without deviation. At the same time, clean the distribution needle to prevent crystal blockage.
Key 5: Control System and Sensor Maintenance
Check whether the flow meter and pressure sensor are reset to zero normally, and regularly verify their accuracy with standard fluid. Keep the control panel clean and dry to avoid solvent vapor corrosion of the circuit.
