The experimental spray dryer can complete the evaporation of water in a few seconds
Date: 2025-09-14Read: 1
Experimental spray dryer is a kind of equipment used in laboratory and small-scale production, which is widely used in food, pharmacy, chemistry, environmental protection and other fields. It spray liquid substances (such as solutions, lotion, suspensions, etc.) into droplets, and rapidly evaporates water in the high-temperature airflow to obtain dry powders or particles. Spray drying is a common rapid drying technology, which can effectively maintain the nutritional and active ingredients of materials, so it occupies an important position in various research and development work.

 Experimental spray dryerWorking principle:
1. Liquid atomization: liquid materials are sprayed into tiny droplets through spray devices (such as nozzles or centrifugal atomizers). The atomization method has a significant impact on the drying effect, and common atomization methods include pressure atomization, rotary atomization, and airflow atomization.
2. Hot air flow drying: Small liquid droplets come into contact with the hot air flow, causing rapid evaporation of water and conversion of liquid into steam. The temperature and flow rate of the airflow will directly affect the drying effect and the final state of the material.
3. Particle collection: After evaporation, the material will form solid particles, which will be carried to the collection device below the drying chamber (such as a cyclone separator or bag filter) by airflow. During the collection process, solid particles are separated to obtain a dry powder.
4. Dried materials: Dried materials are collected in the collection system and can be further processed or packaged as needed.
Main components:
1. spray device: spray device is the core part of spray dryer, responsible for atomizing liquid materials. Common spray devices include pressure nozzle, centrifugal spray and airflow nozzle.
2. Heating system: The heating system provides the hot air required for drying, and commonly used heating methods include electric heating and steam heating. The temperature of hot air has a significant impact on drying efficiency and material quality.
3. Drying chamber: The drying chamber is a place where liquid droplets come into contact with hot air and evaporate. Usually designed as a circle or cone to ensure uniform distribution of hot air flow and efficient material drying.
4. Air flow control system: The air flow control system regulates the flow rate and temperature of the air in the drying room to ensure that the material is dried under optimal conditions.
5. Separation device: Separation devices such as cyclone separators or bag filters are responsible for separating dried material particles from the airflow to prevent dust leakage.
6. Feeding device: the feeding device sends liquid materials to the spray device through the pump to ensure the stable supply of materials.
7. Control system: The control system is used to adjust the operating parameters of the equipment, such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, etc., to ensure the stability and efficiency of the drying process.
Advantages of experimental spray dryer:
1. Fast drying: spray drying has a very fast drying characteristic, which can complete the evaporation of water in a few seconds, greatly improving the production efficiency.
2. Preserve nutrients in materials: Compared with traditional drying methods, spray drying can better retain nutrients and active substances in materials.
3. Wide scope of application: spray dryer is applicable to a wide range of liquid materials, including solutions, lotion, suspensions, etc.
4. Accurate particle size control: By adjusting the atomization device and drying conditions, the particle size of the material can be precisely controlled to meet the needs of different applications.
5. Easy to operate: The operating system is simple and easy to understand, making it convenient to adjust and control the drying process, suitable for laboratory and small-scale production use.
