What is the operation process of the wire torsion testing machine?
Date: 2025-11-03Read: 0

The core operation process of the wire torsion testing machine is The entire process of sample preparation, equipment debugging, start-up testing, data recording, and final organization must follow standardized steps to ensure accurate testing.

1. Preparation before the experiment

Select steel wire samples that meet the standards, and the cutting length should match the spacing between the equipment clamps (usually50-500mm, According to the testing standards, remove oil stains, rust, or bending deformation from the surface of the sample.

Check the equipment status: Confirm that the clamp is not worn, the concentricity is good, the torque sensor and angle encoder are connected normally, and the power supply and software system are running stably.

Replace the fitting fixture according to the diameter of the sample, adjust the spacing between the clamps, and ensure that the sample can be horizontally clamped without additional stress.

2. Equipment parameter settings

Open the control software and select the corresponding testing standard (such asGB/T 239-2012), Enter sample parameters (diameter, length, material, etc.).

Set test mode: Select positive torsion, reverse torsion, or bidirectional torsion, and set the torsion speed (such as10r/min)、 Termination conditions (automatic shutdown due to fracture or shutdown at a fixed frequency/angle).

Calibration equipment zero point: In the unloaded state, reset the torque and angle display values to ensure accurate measurement reference.

3. Sample clamping and positioning

Insert one end of the sample into the fixed clamp and tighten it evenly with a wrench to ensure that the clamping is firm and does not damage the surface of the sample.

After straightening the sample, insert the other end into the movable clamp and tighten it evenly to ensure that the axis of the sample coincides with the center line of the clamp, avoiding deviation during torsion.

Recheck the clamping status to confirm that the sample is not loose or twisted, and that the equipment is running smoothly without any jamming.

4. Start up testing and process monitoring

Click on the software Start button, the device starts to twist according to preset parameters, and the movable clamp rotates at a constant speed.

During the experiment, observe the torque displayed by the software in real-time-Angle curve, number of twists, pay attention to the condition of the sample. If any abnormalities occur (such as slipping or premature fracture), immediately click "emergency stop", investigate the problem, and retest.

If set 'Fracture shutdown', the equipment automatically stops after the sample fractures, and key data is recorded at this time.

5. Data processing and report generation

After the experiment is completed, the software automatically calculates parameters such as the number of twists, twist angle, and maximum torque, and can view and export the test curve.

Check whether the data meets the standard requirements. If multiple tests are required, repeat the above steps and take the average as the final result.

Generate test reports, including sample information, equipment parameters, test data, curve charts, etc., and save or print them for record keeping.

6. Conclusion after the experiment

Turn off the device power, loosen the clamp, remove the sample residue, and clean the clamp and workbench.

Check if the equipment components are in good condition, keep records of equipment operation, and label information such as usage time, test batch, and equipment status.
