The combination of D&S's AE1 emissivity meter and RD1 adjustable digital voltmeter provides a specially designed, efficient, and reliable solution to address the measurement challenges mentioned above

AE1 emissivity meter is used for measurementTotal hemispherical emissivityThis is exactly the physical quantity required for most heat transfer calculations and standard compliance
The detector inside the instrument is electrically heated to a stable temperature, while the sample itself does not need to be heated
This design cleverly utilizes the principle of calorimetry measurement - determining emissivity by directly measuring the radiative heat exchange between the detector and the sample - but greatly simplifies the operation process

Compliance and high precisionThis instrument complies withASTM C1371andISORelevant standards ensure the traceability of measurement results, which can be directly used for regulatory compliance and product certification
$pm 0.01$The repeatability and linearity of emissivity units provide users with highly reliable data support
Simplicity and time-savingThe operation process of AE1/RD1 is designed to be extremely simple, requiring only two steps to complete the measurement:
Place the AE1 probe on the accompanying high emissivity standard sample, rotate the gain knob on the RD1 voltmeter to make the reading consistent with the known emissivity value of the standard sample, and complete the calibration.
Move the detection head to the surface of the sample to be tested, and the emissivity value displayed on the RD1 voltmeter is the emissivity value of the sample, which can be directly read
After about 30 minutes of preheating, each measurement only takes 90 seconds, which makes it very suitable for quality control sampling on production lines or large-scale inspections on construction sites
Responding to diverse application demands:
Under standard configuration, AE1 can measure flat surfaces with a diameter of no less than 2.25 inches (5.7 cm). To meet diverse application needs, D&S offers a range of optional adapters
AE-AD1andAE-AD3Adapter: It can reduce the minimum measurement area to 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) and 1.0 inch (2.54 cm) respectively, making it very suitable for testing small components or material samples.
AE-ADPAdapter: This is a key accessory designed specifically for measuring "difficult" surfaces. It can reliably measure low thermal conductivity materials (such as certain building insulation materials), rough or textured surfaces (such as roof tiles, coatings), and even large curvature cylindrical surfaces with a radius greater than 2 inches (which can be applied to coating inspection of automotive exhaust pipes or industrial pipelines).
Consumer adaptersD&S can also customize adapters for almost any geometric shape surface design according to customers' special needs, fully demonstrating its technical flexibility and problem-solving ability
Portability and on-site applicationThe optional lithium-ion battery pack can provide up to 12 hours of continuous working time and is equipped with a low battery indicator function. This option transforms AE1/RD1 from a desktop instrument into a truly portable on-site tool that can easily handle both on-site inspections of building roofs and inspections of spacecraft components in aircraft hangars

The following table summarizes the core technical parameters of AE1/RD1 emissivity meters, providing a quick reference for technicians.
