In high-temperature and high-pressure chemical reactions, material synthesis, wet digestion, and accelerated aging testing, high-pressure stainless steel crucibles can withstand harsh conditions in a sealed environment, achieving experimental tasks that conventional containers cannot accomplish. Its excellent pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and high temperature resistance make it a key tool in scientific research and industrial fields. However, high-pressure environments pose hidden risks, and improper use can easily lead to safety accidents such as leaks. Mastering the correct usage of high-pressure stainless steel crucibles is the key to their effectiveness.

1、 Pre use inspection
Before each use, the body, cover, sealing ring, and fastening bolts must be checked. Confirm that there are no cracks, dents, or severe corrosion on the surface of stainless steel; Check the O-ring (usually made of polytetrafluoroethylene or fluororubber) for aging, deformation, or damage, and replace it promptly if necessary. Ensure that the threads are clean and undamaged, open and close smoothly, and avoid bursting due to stress concentration.
2、 Material loading:
Overloading is strictly prohibited! The total volume of reactants shall not exceed 2/3 of the volume, leaving sufficient expansion space for liquid boiling and gas generation. For systems that may undergo violent reactions or generate large amounts of gas (such as strong acid digestion, oxidation reactions), the loading capacity should be controlled at less than 1/2. Avoid using flammable, explosive, or incompatible chemicals to prevent accidental reactions.
3、 Sealing and fastening
Place the sealing ring correctly into the groove of the lid, ensuring no twisting. After covering, use a diagonal sequence to gradually and evenly tighten the fastening bolts to avoid sealing failure caused by one-sided force. The tightening force should be moderate, referring to the manufacturer's recommended torque. Over tightening may damage the threads, while over loosening may prevent pressure bearing.
4、 Heating process
Place the crucible in the center of a heating device (such as an oven or muffle furnace) to ensure even heating. It is strictly prohibited to use open flames for direct heating or rapid heating. Program temperature control should be used to slowly increase the temperature to the target temperature (usually not exceeding 250 ℃, depending on the model). It is strictly prohibited to open or move the crucible during the heating process to prevent sudden pressure changes.
5、 Cooling and lid opening
After the reaction is complete, the crucible must be allowed to cool naturally to room temperature in the heating equipment. It is strictly prohibited to use water for cooling or force cooling to prevent excessive temperature differences from causing metal cracking or sudden increase in internal pressure. After cooling down, loosen the bolts symmetrically and slowly open the cover to avoid residual pressure or steam spraying and injuring people.
6、 Cleaning and Storage
Clean promptly after use to avoid corrosive residues. Soak in dilute acid, deionized water, or solvents, and then wipe with a soft cloth. After cleaning, dry and store the sealing ring separately to avoid deformation caused by compression.
