In order to obtain more test data and achieve better test results, the placement of test samples in the salt spray test chamber should also have certain requirements and methods that can be avoided in accordance with regulatory standards.
1) The test samples can be placed on different horizontal surfaces inside the box, but it should be noted that they must not come into contact with the box, let alone with each other. The distance between the test samples should be maintained so as not to affect the free fall of the salt spray, and the salt spray droplets accumulated on the test samples must not drip onto other test samples;
2) The test sample is placed in the salt spray test chamber with the test surface facing up, which can make the salt spray generated during spray in the test chamber settle freely or deposit on the test surface of the sample. It is prohibited to spray the salt spray directly on the test surface of the sample;
3) Under normal circumstances, the test samples in its testing chamber cannot be placed in a flat state. In the requirements of the salt spray standard, it is mentioned that the angle of the test surface of the salt spray test sample should reach 15 °~30 ° from the vertical direction, and as much as possible, reach 20 °. For irregular samples (such as the entire workpiece), the above requirements should also be followed as much as possible;
4) The support for the test sample is made of materials that are resistant to salt spray, acid and alkali corrosion, such as glass and plastic. If the sample needs to be suspended on the support, non-metallic materials such as cotton fibers, artificial fibers or other insulation materials should be used for the suspension of the sample. The use of metallic materials is strictly prohibited.
The placement of test samples in the salt spray test chamber can reduce the errors formed by the samples during the testing process. Therefore, users should pay attention to whether the placement of these test samples meets the standards and whether they are placed according to regulations when conducting experiments
