Revealing Stability Analyzer: Analysis of Common Problems and Solutions
Date: 2025-12-17Read: 0
Stability analyzerIt is a high-precision analytical instrument used to evaluate the physical stability of liquid or semi-solid dispersion systems (such as lotion, suspension, foam, colloid, microcapsule, etc.), and is widely used in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, coatings, petroleum, nano materials and other industries. Its core function is to use non-invasive optical scanning technology to monitor in real-time the processes of phase separation, settling, floating, coagulation, aggregation, or clarification of samples under gravity, centrifugation, or temperature stress, in order to quantitatively predict product shelf life and formula quality.
It often uses Multiple Light Scattering (MLS) technology, combined with near-infrared light sources and high-sensitivity detectors, to scan point by point transmitted light (T) and backscattered light (BS) along the height direction of the sample without damaging the sample. As particles migrate or concentration changes, the intensity of the backscattered signal also changes. Based on this, the system generates a time position stability map and calculates key parameters such as migration rate, interface displacement, and instability index (such as TSI, Turbscan Stability Index) to achieve objective quantification of stability.
  Stability analyzerCommon problems and solutions:
1. The instrument cannot be started
Reason for the problem: abnormal power connection, instrument switch not turned on, internal fuse blown.
resolvent:
Check if the power plug is securely plugged in to ensure proper power connection.
Check if the instrument switch is turned on.
If both the power supply and switch are normal, but the instrument still cannot start, it may be due to the internal fuse being blown and the fuse needs to be replaced.
2. Signal instability
Reason for the problem: Loose or damaged connecting wires, poor grounding.
resolvent:
Check if the connecting wires are securely plugged in to ensure they are not broken or damaged.
Check if the grounding of the instrument is good to ensure the stability of signal transmission.
3. Data abnormality
Reason for the problem: Incorrect sample preparation, uncalibrated instrument, or improper parameter settings.
resolvent:
Check if the sample preparation meets the analysis requirements, ensuring that the sample is thoroughly mixed, clean, and free of contamination.
Check the calibration status of the instrument, which may require recalibration or adjustment of parameters.
4. Wavelength drift
Reason for problem: Aging of light source or contamination of optical components.
resolvent:
Regularly check the status of the light source to ensure its normal operation. If the light source is aging, it needs to be replaced.
Regularly clean optical components to avoid contamination affecting measurement results.
5. Temperature control issues
Reason for the problem: Temperature sensor malfunction or damaged heating element.
resolvent:
Check if the connection of the temperature sensor is good and ensure that the sensor is working properly. If the sensor malfunctions, it needs to be replaced.
Check if the heating element is working properly. If the heating element is damaged, it needs to be replaced.
