Carbon black oil absorption meterIt is an analytical testing instrument used to measure the oil absorption capacity of carbon black, mainly applied in the rubber, carbon black, and masterbatch industries. Its structural characteristics are evaluated by measuring the absorption of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) or paraffin oil by carbon black.
Working Principle:
The C-type carbon black oil absorption meter can accurately and repeatedly test the absorption testing ability of the oil absorption meter. The principle is to measure the resistance generated by carbon black on the rotating rotor and determine its absorption capacity during oil addition. Apply high-precision burettes to add liquid (as a titrant) to powder samples in the mixing chamber.
When the liquid wets the sample, three different objects can be seen on the torque curve: the free flowing phase; Condensed phase; Terminate the phase.
During the automatic mobile phase, the liquid is fully absorbed into the structure of carbon black. After fully absorbing the liquid, the particles begin to adhere to each other and form aggregates. A sudden increase in torque value indicates an enhancement in resistance to mixing forces.
The torque can reach its maximum value through the phase change from liquid to solid and then to liquid.
The oil absorption of carbon black is directly related to the processing and vulcanization properties of rubber compounds prepared using carbon black.
