The dual beam UV visible spectrophotometer is a high-precision analytical instrument based on dual beam compensation technology
Date: 2025-05-13Read: 42
The dual beam UV visible spectrophotometer is a precision analytical instrument mainly used to measure the absorption degree of a sample to specific wavelengths of light, and is widely used in fields such as chemistry, biology, and medicine. Its advantages lie in high precision and stability, which can compensate for measurement errors caused by light source fluctuations and optical component aging in real time, thereby improving the accuracy and repeatability of measurement results.
The dual beam UV visible spectrophotometer is a high-precision analytical instrument based on dual beam compensation technology. By synchronously detecting and eliminating the interference of light source fluctuations through dual optical paths, it can achieve material structure analysis, concentration quantitative analysis, and reaction kinetics monitoring.
The instrument adopts a dual beam compensation design, and the light emitted by the light source is divided into two beams by the spectroscopic system: one beam passes through the sample cell (sample light), and the other beam passes through the reference cell (reference light). Two beams of light are synchronously received and converted into electrical signals by photodetectors, and interference factors such as light source fluctuations and stray light are eliminated through differential processing to output accurate absorbance values. This design significantly improves the stability and repeatability of measurements.
The dual beam UV visible spectrophotometer divides the light emitted by the light source into two beams through a dual beam design: one beam passes through the sample to be tested, and the other beam passes through the reference cell. By comparing the intensities of these two beams of light, the instrument can more accurately measure the absorbance of the sample, reducing the impact of drift from the light source and detector on the measurement results. Its working principle includes steps such as light source emission, beam splitting system, sample measurement and detection system.
Operation suggestions and maintenance methods
Keep the environment clean: Cover it with a dust cover when not in use, and store it in a constant temperature and dry room for a long time.
Caution: When placing the sample, avoid splashing the solution into the sample chamber, and use a colorimetric dish cover for volatile samples.
Avoid light path deviation: Do not loosen the screws and nuts in the light path section, and do not touch the mirror surface with hands or objects.
Handle with care: When handling, be careful to avoid heavy objects pressing on the instrument casing.
Regular maintenance: Clean and maintain in a timely manner after use, such as replacing light bulbs, cleaning optical components, etc. ‌
