What kind of laboratory equipment is a low-temperature three gas incubator
Date: 2025-09-16Read: 0
Low temperature three gas incubator is a laboratory equipment designed for biological and medical research, mainly used to simultaneously control temperature, humidity, and gas composition (such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen) in a low temperature environment, providing a stable environment for the cultivation of microorganisms, cells, tissues, etc. It is an experimental equipment that can accurately control temperature, humidity, and concentrations of three gases (usually oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen), mainly used for the cultivation of cells, tissues, and microorganisms.
working principle
Gas concentration detection and control: IR infrared sensors are commonly used to detect carbon dioxide concentration, and the CO ₂ gas concentration is calculated by measuring the propagation speed of sound waves in gases with different CO ₂ concentrations. The oxygen concentration is detected through electrochemical sensors, which can quickly respond and provide accurate concentration readings. The incubator monitors and adjusts the gas composition inside the incubator in real-time based on the readings.
Gas mixing and input: When adjusting the concentration of oxygen or nitrogen, the incubator adds gas through a first in, first out method. For example, when the oxygen concentration is below 19%, nitrogen will be added first to achieve the set oxygen concentration, and then carbon dioxide will be added; When the oxygen concentration is higher than 23%, the oxygen concentration will be increased first and then carbon dioxide will be added to ensure the accuracy of the gas concentration.
Computer control and regulation: The entire process is controlled by a computer, which can automatically adjust the gas ratio according to a preset program, and also includes temperature control to ensure that cells grow under good conditions.
Application field
Cell culture: used for research on cell proliferation, viral toxicology, differentiation, transfection, etc., providing strong support for drug preparation and screening, gene therapy, and other fields.
Organizational engineering: used to cultivate and maintain the vitality and function of engineered tissues, laying the foundation for the development of regenerative medicine and transplant medicine.
Microbial research: By simulating different physiological environments such as lower temperatures, different oxygen concentrations, carbon dioxide concentrations, etc., it provides convenience for the cultivation and research of microorganisms, and helps to gain a deeper understanding of their physiological characteristics, metabolic pathways, etc.
