Advantages and disadvantages of peristaltic pumps
Date: 2025-10-28Read: 38
peristaltic pumpIt consists of three parts: driver, pump head, and hose. The main competitive advantages of peristaltic pumps are that the fluid is isolated in the pump tube, the pump tube can be quickly replaced, the fluid can flow in reverse, it can operate dry, and the maintenance cost is low.
To easily integrate into your process, the pump can be extended with the following separately sold 77300-32 weather resistant remote control cable for remote control functionality. The remote control function includes 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA, and 0 to 10V speed control inputs through open collector, contact closure, or the 07592-83 handheld remote control; 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA, 0 to 10V, and TTL pulse flowmeter outputs; Pumping direction, start/stop, and filling.
Product advantages:
1. Pollution free: The fluid only comes into contact with the pump tube and does not come into contact with the pump body;
2. High precision: repeatability accuracy, high stability accuracy;
3. Low shear force: an ideal tool for conveying shear sensitive and highly corrosive fluids;
4. Good sealing: It has good self-priming ability, can rotate freely, and can prevent backflow;
5. Easy maintenance: no valves or seals;
6. Capable of bidirectional equal flow transmission; No damage will be caused to any components of the pump when running without liquid.
Product Disadvantages:
1. Pressure limitation: Using flexible pipes will limit the ability to withstand pressure.
2. The pump generates a pulse flow during operation, and the solution is:
① Increasing the number of rollers will decrease the flow rate.
② Using a pulse suppressor: A pulse suppressor is a simple positioning container that works because air is more compressible than liquid. The pulse flow enters the container, and the air bag on the liquid sinks to absorb the pulse and smoothly flows out of the pulse suppressor.
3. The traffic will decay over time. (Due to hose wear and tear)
The outlet pressure of the pump has certain limitations, generally not exceeding 0.3MPa, usually between 0.1-0.2MPa.
