Portable pressure sterilizerIt is the core sterilization equipment of laboratories and medical institutions, and its high-pressure and high-temperature working conditions pose high safety risks. Strictly following the operating red line is the key to ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. The following ten operational prohibitions cover the entire process of equipment start-up, operation, and closure, establishing a strong safety line for sterilization operations.
1、 Do not start the equipment without checking the sealing status
Aging of the sealing ring and uneven tightening of the pot lid bolts can cause steam leakage during the sterilization process, leading to burns. Before starting, it is necessary to check whether the sealing ring is complete and free of cracks. The pot cover bolts should be gradually tightened in diagonal order to ensure that the sealing surface is tightly fitted. It is strictly prohibited to miss any bolts or tighten them haphazardly.
2、 Do not overload sterilized items
The sterilization chamber has a fixed upper limit for loading capacity. If the items are stacked too full, it will hinder steam circulation, which not only reduces the sterilization effect, but also may cause equipment failure due to uneven internal pressure distribution. It is strictly prohibited to load more than 80% of the inner container capacity, and items must be placed in layers with reserved steam circulation gaps.
3、 Do not arbitrarily change sterilization parameters
There are strict standards for sterilization temperature, pressure, and time for different items. For example, the culture medium needs to be sterilized at 121 ℃ and 0.1MPa for 20 minutes. If the pressure is increased or the time is shortened without authorization, it will result in incomplete sterilization; Overheating and overpressure can easily damage equipment. It is strictly prohibited to deviate from the established sterilization procedure. Special items that require sterilization must first verify the rationality of the parameters.
4、 Do not sterilize flammable, explosive or corrosive materials
Alcohol, flammable and explosive reagents such as C ₂ H ₅ OC ₂ H ₅, and corrosive substances such as strong acids and alkalis are strictly prohibited from being placed in sterilizers for treatment. These types of items are prone to explosion and corrosion of the inner container under high pressure and high temperature. If sterilization of related containers is required, residual reagents must be emptied and thoroughly cleaned before being put into the pot to confirm that there are no dangerous residues.
5、 Do not increase the pressure before exhausting the cold air
Portable pressure sterilizerIf the internal cold air is not discharged, it will form a "cold mass", causing the actual temperature to be lower than the displayed value on the pressure gauge, resulting in sterilization failure. It is strictly prohibited to skip the step of discharging cold air. The exhaust valve should be opened first, and after continuous steam is discharged for 5-10 minutes and the cold air is confirmed to be completely discharged, the valve should be closed to increase the pressure.

6、 Do not open the cover or touch high-temperature components without authorization while the equipment is running
During the sterilization process, the temperature of the inner container can reach over 121 ℃ and the pressure is higher than normal pressure. Opening the lid at this time can cause high-temperature steam to instantly spray out, causing serious burns; Touching heating tubes, pot lids, and other components can also cause burns. During the operation of the equipment, it is strictly prohibited to approach or touch high-temperature areas, let alone attempt to loosen bolts or open the pot lid.
7、 Do not open the lid to retrieve items without lowering the pressure and temperature
After sterilization, if it is not naturally cooled or slowly depressurized, opening the lid directly may cause liquid boiling and steam overflow due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside. It is strictly prohibited to release gas quickly or open the lid under pressure. The power must be turned off first, and after the pressure gauge pointer returns to zero and the temperature drops below 80 ℃, the lid can be opened according to the steps.
8、 Do not use aging or damaged pressure gauges or safety valves
Pressure gauges and safety valves are the core components of equipment safety. If the dial is blurry or the safety valve fails, it will be unable to accurately monitor pressure and cause overpressure risks. It is strictly prohibited to continue using safety accessories that have exceeded their calibration period, are damaged or malfunctioning. Regular inspection and calibration are required, and if any abnormalities are found, the machine should be stopped immediately for replacement.
9、 Do not start heating without water level protection
Water level below the heating tube can cause dry burning, burning of heating elements, and even deformation of the inner container. It is strictly prohibited to turn on electricity without checking the water level. It is necessary to ensure that the water level line covers the heating tube and use distilled water or deionized water to avoid the accumulation of scale that affects water level monitoring and heating efficiency.
10、 Non professionals are not allowed to disassemble and repair without authorization
Portable pressure sterilizerWhen malfunctions occur (such as abnormal pressure or inability to exhaust), non professionals are strictly prohibited from disassembling core components such as the inner liner and safety valve. Improper maintenance can damage the sealing and safety of the equipment. It is necessary to contact the manufacturer or professional maintenance personnel in a timely manner, carry out maintenance according to standardized procedures, and after repair, it must be verified as qualified before reuse.
