With the booming development of the ready to drink coffee market, portable PP (polypropylene) easy to tear small bags are gradually becoming the mainstream packaging form for products such as coffee powder, instant coffee, and freeze-dried coffee granules due to their advantages of being lightweight, environmentally friendly, and easy to open. However, this type of packaging poses a dual challenge to the heat sealing process, which requires both reliable sealing and controllable tearing. Low heat sealing strength can easily lead to powder leakage and moisture absorption; If it is too high, it will be difficult to tear off and affect the user experience. The basic principle of underwater bubble method is to create a pressure difference inside and outside the sample by vacuuming the chamber. When there is a leakage in the packaging, the internal gas will escape and form bubbles, or the test water will seep into the interior of the sample. Based on the appearance and location of bubbles, it can be determined whether the sealing performance is intact.
This method is suitable for situations where the experimental water has no significant effect on the outer layer material of the packaging, such as common PET/AL/PE three-layer composite instant coffee bags.
