Briefly describe the common problems and corresponding solutions of medical high-speed centrifuges
Date: 2025-03-17Read: 2
Medical high-speed centrifuge is a key equipment commonly used in laboratories and medical fields, mainly used for separating and purifying different components in biological samples. It utilizes the strong centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation to separate particles in the mixture according to density, volume, or mass differences, and is widely used in biomedical research and clinical diagnosis such as cell separation, protein purification, nucleic acid extraction, etc.
Medical high-speed centrifuges may encounter problems during daily use that may affect experimental results or normal equipment operation. Understanding these problems and their corresponding solutions is crucial to ensure efficient operation.

1、 Unbalance alarm
Problem description: When placing sample tubes, if the mass distribution is uneven, it can cause vibration during operation and trigger an imbalance alarm.
Solution: Ensure that all sample tubes have consistent weight and are symmetrically placed on the rotor. If the sample volumes are different, it is necessary to add equilibrium solution to make the weights on both sides equal. Regular inspection and calibration of rotors are also effective means of preventing such problems.
2、 Excessive noise
Problem description: Abnormal noise during normal use may be caused by mechanical component wear or improper installation.
Solution: First, turn off the power and check if there are any foreign objects stuck inside; Secondly, confirm whether the rotor is installed correctly and whether the fastening screws are loose. If any damaged parts are found, they should be replaced in a timely manner, and if necessary, professional personnel should be contacted for maintenance.
3、 Temperature control malfunction
Problem description: In some cases, the set temperature cannot be reached or maintained stably, which may be due to refrigeration system failure or sensor issues.
Solution: First check if the temperature control settings are correct, then check if the condenser is clean to ensure good ventilation. If it is a sensor malfunction, a technician needs to replace the sensor with a new one.
4、 The speed cannot reach the set value
Problem description: Even if the correct speed parameters are set, the actual operating speed may still be lower than the expected value.
Solution: Check if the drive belt is loose or broken, and adjust or replace the belt if necessary. At the same time, confirm whether the motor is working properly, as poor electrical connections may cause this phenomenon to occur.
5、 Display screen shows error message
Problem description: The display screen on the control panel occasionally shows error codes or other unknown information.
Solution: Refer to the user manual to find the corresponding error code meaning and take appropriate measures according to the instructions. If you are unable to solve it on your own, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for technical support.
6、 Door lock failure
Problem description: A malfunction in the safety door lock mechanism may result in the inability to open or close the lid properly.
Solution: Check if there is any physical damage to the door lock components and clean up any debris around that may hinder the switch operation. If the problem still cannot be solved, professional maintenance personnel need to be hired for inspection.
In order to extend the service life of medical high-speed centrifuges and ensure their stable performance, in addition to mastering the coping strategies for the common problems mentioned above, correct operating procedures should also be followed, and regular maintenance and upkeep should be carried out. This not only improves work efficiency, but also effectively avoids potential safety hazards.
