Attention! These key factors should be carefully considered when choosing a high-capacity low-temperature centrifuge
Date: 2025-02-24Read: 2
Large capacity low-temperature centrifuges are mainly used to separate various components in biological samples, such as proteins, DNA, etc. By high-speed rotation, centrifugal force is generated to separate components of different densities in the sample under the action of centrifugal force. It has the characteristics of large capacity, low temperature, and high precision, which can process a large number of samples at once and maintain the biological activity of the samples in low temperature environments.
In the process of selecting a large capacity low-temperature centrifuge, multiple technical parameters and actual needs need to be comprehensively considered. We hope this will be helpful to you.

1. Capacity and rotor configuration
Choose the appropriate capacity specification based on experimental requirements, with a common range of 4-6 liters. Consider the diversity and interchangeability of rotors to ensure compatibility with centrifuge bottles of different specifications. Check the rotor material and select high-strength materials such as titanium alloy to ensure durability and safety. Confirm whether the centrifugal force meets the experimental requirements, usually exceeding 20.000 × g.
2. Performance of temperature control system
Temperature control accuracy is its core indicator. High quality equipment should be able to accurately control temperature within the range of 4 ℃ to -20 ℃, with fluctuations not exceeding ± 1 ℃. Check the cooling rate of the refrigeration system, which should not exceed 15 minutes from room temperature to 4 ℃ when fully loaded. Confirm that it has pre cooling function and can reach the set temperature in advance.
3. Security protection function
Security performance is crucial. The equipment should have rotor recognition function to prevent overspeed operation. Check the door lock protection device to ensure that the centrifugal chamber cannot be opened during operation. Confirm that it has an imbalance detection function and can automatically shut down for protection. Consider biosafety configurations, such as aerosol sealing systems.
4. Control System and Operating Interface
Modern devices should be equipped with intuitive touchscreen interfaces that support multilingual display. Check the program storage capacity to ensure that commonly used centrifugation schemes can be saved. Confirm that it has fault self diagnosis function for easy maintenance and repair. Consider remote monitoring function to achieve data recording and transmission.
5. Energy consumption and noise level
Evaluate the energy efficiency level of the equipment and select energy-saving products. Check the operating noise level, high-quality equipment should be below 60 decibels. Consider the cooling requirements of the equipment and ensure that the laboratory ventilation conditions meet the requirements.
6. After sales service and certification
Confirm that the supplier provides comprehensive after-sales service, including regular maintenance and technical support. Check whether the equipment has passed international certifications such as ISO and CE to ensure quality and safety. Understand the warranty period and repair response time.
When selecting a large capacity low-temperature centrifuge, it is recommended to conduct on-site inspections of the equipment's operation and prototype testing. Simultaneously consider the power supply and spatial layout of the laboratory to ensure smooth installation and use. Select the appropriate model for experimental needs through evaluation and comparison.
