Nanoimprint technology is a high-precision pattern replication technique that achieves precise microstructure manufacturing by shaping materials at the nanoscale. The following is the configuration process of nanoimprint thickening agent:
1、 Preparation in advance and verification of substrate compatibility
1. Surface analysis of substrate
-The surface energy and chemical properties of the substrate (such as glass, silicon wafer, or flexible plastic) need to be tested first. For low surface energy materials (such as fluoropolymers), plasma treatment is required to enhance surface activity and ensure effective adhesion of the thickening agent.
-Example: Quartz substrates need to be cleaned with oxygen plasma for 10 minutes to remove organic pollutants and introduce hydroxyl functional groups, enhancing the subsequent bonding of thickening agent molecules.
2. Selection principles of thickening agents
-Select the appropriate type of thickening agent based on the mold material. For example, it is recommended to use thickening agents containing silane coupling agents for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) molds, while UV curing resin systems require the use of photosensitive adhesion promoters.
2、 Core configuration process steps
1. Preparation of basic solution
-Solvent selection: Use propylene glycol methyl ether acetate (PGMEA) as the solvent, as it has a moderate volatilization rate and good solubility for most resins.
-Concentration control: Dilute the original solution of the thickening agent at a volume ratio of 1% -5%, and test the uniformity of the film formation by spin coating method. High concentration is suitable for filling rough surfaces, while low concentration is beneficial for wetting smooth surfaces.
2. Dynamic mixing and defoaming treatment
-Using a dual planetary mixer to mix the thickening agent and solvent, the speed is controlled at 800-1200rpm for 30 minutes to ensure molecular level dispersion.
-The vacuum defoaming stage requires maintaining a pressure of -0.08MPa to avoid component decomposition caused by ultrasonic oscillation.
3. Optimization of coating and curing parameters
-Spin coating process: Solution spreading is completed in the low-speed stage (500rpm/10s), and a uniform thin film of 100-300nm is formed in the high-speed stage (2000-3000rpm/30s).
-Step curing: First, bake at 90 ℃ for 2 minutes to remove residual solvents, and then irradiate with 254nm ultraviolet light (energy density ≥ 100mJ/cm ²) to achieve cross-linking curing.
3、 Quality inspection and failure prevention
1. Interface performance characterization
-Use atomic force microscopy (AFM) to detect the surface roughness of the coating (Ra<2nm), and evaluate the adhesion level through the hundred grid test (ISO 2409 standard).
-The contact angle measuring instrument shows that the contact angle of water droplets should be ≤ 30 °, proving that the hydrophilicity meets the standard.
2. Common Failure Mode Countermeasures
-Bubble defect: Reduce the coating speed to below 1500rpm, or extend the standing time to 5 minutes to allow the bubbles to naturally escape.
-Adhesion attenuation: Check the pre-treatment effect of the substrate and increase the thickness of the thickening agent coating to 500nm if necessary.
As nanoimprinting develops towards larger sizes, it is recommended to regularly monitor fluctuations in environmental temperature and humidity, and establish an SPC statistical process control system to continuously optimize the stability of the configuration process.
