Maintenance and upkeep of dust aerosol generator: key points
Date: 2025-12-04Read: 0
  Dust aerosol generatorAs a core equipment in laboratory/industrial testing, proper daily maintenance can significantly extend its service life, ensure the stability of output dust, and ensure testing accuracy. Here are the key points that are easy to understand and can be used directly, even beginners can quickly master:
1、 After daily use: 3-step basic cleaning (must be done after each use)
Dust residue cleaning: After turning off the power, promptly dismantle the dust storage compartment, discharge port, pipeline and other contact parts of the generator, and use a dry soft bristled brush or compressed air (low pressure) to clean the residual dust to avoid dust clumping and blocking the channel; If there are stubborn attachments, wipe them with anhydrous ethanol and let them dry. Do not rinse electrical components directly with water.
Seal inspection and cleaning: Check whether there is dust adhesion or wear on the sealing ring of the feed inlet and the gasket of the pipeline interface. Wipe it clean with a clean cloth. If the seal is deformed or aged (cracks or loose sealing), replace it in a timely manner to prevent dust leakage or air from entering and affecting concentration stability.
Appearance and cooling port cleaning: Wipe the equipment casing with a damp cloth to remove surface dust; Clean the dust accumulation at the heat dissipation port to avoid affecting the device's heat dissipation and preventing internal components from overheating and damage.
2、 Regular maintenance: Perform 3 core tasks on a regular basis (recommended once a month)
Key component inspection:
Check whether the dust conveying pipeline is damaged or aged, whether the pipeline connection is firm, and replace it in a timely manner if any damage occurs;
Check the operation status of the fan and motor. If there is abnormal noise or excessive vibration, stop the machine and check if the bearings are lacking oil. If necessary, add special lubricating oil (select according to the equipment manual model);
Verify whether the nozzle/atomization component (if any) is unobstructed and worn. If the output dust concentration fluctuates greatly, it may be due to nozzle blockage and needs to be disassembled, cleaned or replaced.
Electrical system inspection: Check whether the power cord and plug are damaged, whether the wiring terminals are loose, and if there are any abnormalities, deal with them in a timely manner to avoid short circuits or poor contacts; Ensure good grounding of the equipment to prevent static electricity accumulation, dust adsorption, or potential safety hazards.
Calibration and performance verification: Regularly (recommended monthly or every 50 hours of use) verify whether the dust concentration and particle size distribution output by the generator meet the requirements through standard testing methods. If the deviation exceeds the range, calibrate according to the instructions or contact professional personnel from the manufacturer for debugging.
3、 Long term disuse: 2-point storage requirement (no need to do beyond 15 days)
Thoroughly clean: According to the daily cleaning process, thoroughly clean all components of dust residue to ensure that no dust accumulates inside the equipment;
Dry and sealed storage: Assemble the cleaned components and place them in a dry, ventilated, and non corrosive gas environment to prevent moisture from causing rusting of the components or aging of the seals; Disconnect the power supply, unplug the plug, and cover the device with dust before storage.
4、 Maintenance and pit avoidance reminder
It is prohibited to disassemble components or clean dust while the equipment is running. The power must be turned off first and the equipment must be completely shut down;
Avoid using sharp tools (such as screwdrivers, wire balls) during cleaning to prevent scratching the surface of components or damaging seals;
When replacing components such as seals, nozzles, and filters, it is necessary to choose the original factory compatible model of the equipment, and it is prohibited to mix accessories of different specifications;
If the equipment malfunctions (such as inability to start or abnormal dust output), do not disassemble the internal motor or control system by yourself, and contact the manufacturer's after-sales service for repair in a timely manner.
