1、 Core Material Selection Standard: Necessity of 316L/316Ti Stainless SteelDifferences in corrosion resistance performance
304 stainless steel: It has a low nickel content (about 8%) and does not contain molybdenum (Mo) or titanium (Ti). It is prone to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, and intergranular corrosion at high temperatures (134 ℃) and in environments containing chloride ions (Cl ⁻). For example, if the chlorine ions in the steam in contact with the sterilizer exceed the standard, the corrosion rate of 304 stainless steel will significantly increase with temperature rise (the corrosion rate increases 1-3 times for every 10 ℃ increase in temperature).
316L/316Ti stainless steel:
316L (022Cr17Ni12Mo2) with 2% -3% molybdenum added enhances its resistance to chloride ion corrosion;
Further addition of titanium element to 316Ti (06Cr17Ni12Mo2Ti) forms stable carbides, inhibits intergranular corrosion, and improves stress corrosion resistance.
Industry case: Brands such as Xinhua Medical have fully adopted 316Ti stainless steel, which has a service life more than three times that of 304 stainless steel.
Material selection suggestions
Priority order: 316Ti>316L>304 (only applicable to non high temperature chloride ion environments).
Guidelines for avoiding pitfalls: Avoid choosing a composite structure of inner shell 304 stainless steel and sandwich carbon steel, as the difference in linear expansion coefficients between the two materials can lead to residual stress in the weld seam, which can easily cause stress corrosion cracking.
2、 Structure and Process: Key Factors Affecting Performance
Key points of structural design
Integrated structure: To avoid sealing hazards caused by split design, priority should be given to the sterilization chamber formed by integral stamping.
Sealing method: Self expanding silicone sealing rings are more reliable than traditional compression seals and can withstand frequent opening and closing.
Cold air removal: Equipped with a built-in forced exhaust device to ensure a steam saturation of ≥ 97%, avoiding sterilization temperature non-compliance caused by air residue.
Manufacturing process standards
Welding process: Laser welding or automatic argon arc welding is used to reduce the composition difference between the weld metal and the base metal, and to reduce the brittleness of the transition layer.
Surface treatment: Inner cavity electrolytic polishing treatment (Ra ≤ 0.4 μ m) to reduce microbial adhesion and corrosion medium retention.
Pressure test: Before leaving the factory, a water pressure test at 1.5 times the rated pressure (such as a design pressure of 0.24 MPa corresponding to a test pressure of 0.36 MPa) is required.
3、 Functional configuration: Meet diverse application needs
Core functional modules
Programmed control: supports sterilization, insulation, dissolution, instrument sterilization and other modes.
Dynamic monitoring: Real time display of temperature/pressure curves, data storage meets GMP certification requirements (such as 7-inch touch screen+FO value printing function).
Safety interlock: Electronic and mechanical dual interlocking, unable to open the door until the pressure returns to zero.
Industry customized solutions
Medical field: Priority should be given to horizontal sterilizers with B-level pulsating vacuum function, suitable for high-risk items such as surgical instruments and dressings.
Food industry: Use a spray water bath sterilizer to switch between pasteurization and high-temperature sterilization through multi-stage temperature control.
Research scenario: Vertical sterilizers need to be equipped with rapid cooling devices to shorten the experimental cycle.
4、 Application scenarios and operational standards
Typical application scenarios
Medical waste disposal: PCR laboratories need to choose sterilizers with biosafety protection functions.
Drug production: The pharmaceutical workshop must comply with FDA/cGMP standards and use internal exhaust sterilizers to avoid steam condensation water pollution.
Food processing: Vacuum packaged food requires the use of reverse pressure sterilization technology to prevent packaging rupture.
Standardized operating procedures
Preprocessing:
Sterilization package volume ≤ 30cm × 30cm × 50cm, with a loading capacity not exceeding 85% of the chamber volume;
Liquid culture medium needs to reserve expansion space (such as filling capacity ≤ 2/3 of container capacity).
Sterilization stage:
After excluding cold air, maintain 121 ℃/20 min or 134 ℃/4 min (verification of thermophilic fat bacteria spores);
Plastic containers need to extend sterilization time by 10% -20% (due to low thermal conductivity).
Post processing:
The drying stage adopts the "fast discharge" mode (such as opening the door 4-5cm after the pressure returns to zero and maintaining it for 10-15 minutes);
The validation of biological indicators requires immediate cultivation after the sterilization cycle (such as 3M1262 pressure sterilization indicator tape).
5、 Maintenance and Verification: Ensuring Long term Reliability
Key points of daily maintenance
Water quality management: Use distilled water or deionized water to prevent scale from blocking the pipeline (such as calcium and magnesium ion concentration ≤ 50ppm).
Sealing ring maintenance: Apply silicone grease every month to avoid aging and cracking.
Verification interface: Regularly use multi-point temperature probes (≥ 15) for thermal distribution testing.
Performance verification method
Chemical indicator: The color uniformity of 3M pressure sterilization indicator tape should reach 100%;
Biological indicator: survival rate of thermophilic fatty acid bacteria spores ≤ 0.001% (such as ATCC7953 standard strain);
Physical parameters: Temperature fluctuation range ≤± 0.5 ℃, pressure deviation ≤± 0.01MPa.
