Thin film distillationTechnology can achieve precise purification and is a green separation technology for thermally sensitive materials through distillation. It is widely used in industries such as food, spices, and fine chemicals.
1. Key components:
Thin film evaporator: As a reboiler, it forms a thin layer of material on the heating surface by rotating a scraper, achieving short-term low-temperature evaporation (residence time 10-50 seconds) and avoiding the decomposition of thermosensitive substances.
Distillation column: equipped with low-pressure drop packing (such as stainless steel wire mesh or ceramic ring), providing 2-20+theoretical tray numbers, enhancing the separation accuracy of components with boiling points close to each other.
Control system: The electromagnetic reflux ratio controller accurately adjusts the extraction ratio, and the vacuum system maintains the operating pressure as low as 1mbar.
2. Separation process:
The material enters the thin film evaporator for evaporation, and the vapor rises to the distillation column; Multi stage separation is achieved through gas-liquid countercurrent contact within the column. Light components are condensed and recovered, while heavy components are returned to the evaporator for further concentration.
3. Configuration selection:
Distillation column type: packed column (with high theoretical tray number) is suitable for high-purity separation, and the packed structure reduces pressure drop.
Feeding method: Bottom feeding is suitable for easily decomposable materials, while in tower feeding optimizes azeotropic system separation.
4. Operating standards:
Pre filter the material before starting to prevent solid particles from blocking the packing.
Gradually reduce the pressure of the vacuum pump to avoid sudden pressure changes that may cause liquid flooding; Immediately clean borosilicate glass components with neutral solvent after shutdown.
Strong acid/alkaline materials require the selection of special alloys (such as Hastelloy) evaporators; It is recommended to integrate a gear pump for high viscosity materials to ensure continuous feeding.
