How to prevent HALOSID water purifier from malfunctioning?
Date: 2025-12-23Read: 2

The core of preventing HALOSID pure water machine failures lies in the full process management of standardized operation, regular consumable maintenance, key parameter monitoring, shutdown maintenance, and environmental management. The following are specific preventive measures for each module, taking into account universality and common maintenance points of HALOSID models:

1、 Standardize basic operations to avoid human errors causing malfunctions
Water source adaptation and pre startup inspection
Ensure that the incoming water meets the equipment requirements (usually municipal tap water, water pressure 0.1-0.4MPa, water temperature 5-35 ℃), avoid direct connection of high turbidity and high hardness water, and install pre-treatment (such as PP cotton filter) if necessary to prevent premature blockage of the RO membrane.
Before starting up, check if the pipeline connections are loose and if the sealing ring of the filter bottle is intact. After powering on, confirm that there are no alarms on the display screen (such as filter life or abnormal pressure), and then start the water production program.
Standard water intake and shutdown process
If water has not been collected for a long time (such as overnight or after weekends), release it for 30 seconds after turning on the machine, and drain the stagnant water in the pipeline to avoid water quality fluctuations.
When shutting down, wait for the device to complete automatic flushing (most HALOSID models support RO membrane automatic flushing). It is strictly prohibited to interrupt flushing by forcibly cutting off the power to prevent scaling on the membrane surface.
Avoid overloading operation
Control the recovery rate of the RO system within 75% to avoid scaling on the concentrated water side; Do not frequently start and stop the equipment to reduce wear and tear on the pump body and solenoid valve.
2、 Real time monitoring of key parameters and early warning of potential faults
Establish daily parameter recording habits, compare benchmark values, and immediately shut down for troubleshooting if any abnormalities are found:
Pressure monitoring
Record the inlet pressure, pre - and post RO membrane pressure, and concentrated water pressure daily. If there is a sudden change in pressure (such as low inlet pressure or increased RO membrane pressure difference), it may be due to filter blockage, pump failure, or pipeline leakage, which needs to be dealt with in a timely manner.
Water quality monitoring
Observe the conductivity/resistivity values on the display screen daily, and calibrate and compare them with a standard TDS pen or portable water quality meter every week. If the conductivity of the produced water continues to increase, it indicates that the RO membrane or purification column has failed.
Check the TOC value of ultrapure water every month (if possible). If it exceeds the standard, replace the activated carbon filter and disinfect the water storage tank.
Traffic and operational status monitoring
Record the water production flow rate. If the flow rate decreases by 10% -15% and there is no improvement after cleaning, the filter element or RO membrane needs to be replaced.
Monitor the operating sound of the high-pressure pump and booster pump. If there is abnormal noise or vibration, it may be due to pump bearing wear or pipeline resonance. Stop the machine and check and tighten the pipeline.
3、 Scientific shutdown maintenance to prevent long-term idle damage
Short term shutdown (1-30 days)
Run the RO membrane for 1-2 hours every day to keep it moist and prevent membrane shrinkage or microbial growth.
Keep a certain amount of water in the water storage tank to prevent air from entering and causing pollution.
Long term shutdown (>30 days)
First, chemically clean the RO membrane, then rinse it with a 1% sodium bisulfite solution (pH 5-7) and fill the membrane shell. Close all valves to prevent membrane oxidation or biological contamination.
Repeat the protection steps every 30 days when the ambient temperature is 5-20 ℃; Repeat every 7 days at 30-33 ℃.
Before reactivation, rinse the system with pure water for at least 30 minutes and test the water quality before use.
4、 Environmental and equipment maintenance to extend the lifespan of the entire machine
Environmental Management
Place in a dry, ventilated, and non corrosive gas environment, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent electrical components from aging and RO membrane performance degradation.
Regularly clean the surface of the equipment, wipe it with a soft cloth to avoid dust blocking the heat dissipation holes, and prohibit the use of corrosive cleaning agents.
Pipeline and component maintenance
Check the pipeline joints, filter bottles, and water storage tanks for leaks every month, tighten loose parts in a timely manner, and replace aging sealing rings.
Clean the water storage tank (if any) quarterly, disinfect it with a specialized disinfectant, and rinse it clean with pure water to prevent microbial contamination.
Ensure that the drainage pipe is unobstructed to avoid abnormal system pressure caused by concentrated water reflux.
Electrical and Sensor Maintenance
At least one comprehensive inspection per year, including pump pressure, circuit, pressure sensor, and water quality sensor calibration, to ensure accurate data.
Avoid frequent power outages. If the equipment frequently starts and stops, check whether the high-voltage switch and check valve are faulty and replace them in a timely manner.
summary
Through the closed-loop maintenance of "daily parameter recording+regular consumables replacement+scientific shutdown maintenance+environmental management", more than 90% of HALOSID pure water machine failures can be avoided. It is recommended to establish an equipment maintenance ledger to record the replacement time, parameter changes, and fault handling of consumables. At the same time, priority should be given to using original parts to avoid compatibility issues. If necessary, contact the manufacturer's after-sales service for annual professional maintenance.
