Several points to pay attention to when using a rubber rebound tester
Date: 2025-10-24Read: 0
The rubber rebound tester mainly uses a pendulum or free fall device to apply impact force to the rubber sample, causing it to deform. For example, in a pendulum rebound tester, a certain mass of pendulum is released from a specific height to impact the rubber sample; The free fall type allows a steel ball with a standard diameter and mass to freely fall onto the surface of a rubber sample at a specified height. At this time, the sample is deformed by external forces, which realizes the input of energy into the rubber material.
Energy storage and conversion stage: When the instantaneous deformation caused by impact leads to the reorganization of internal stress in the material, the rubber molecular chains are stretched and twisted under external force, but due to their high elasticity, they will store some energy. After the impact force is removed, the rubber sample begins to recover to its original state due to its own elasticity. During this process, the stored energy is gradually released, pushing the rebound hammer to carry the remaining energy and jump up.
Measurement and calculation stage: The instrument captures information such as rebound height through photoelectric sensors and other devices, and calculates rebound elasticity based on the ratio of output energy to input energy. Specifically, it is to measure the height of sample recovery or rebound hammer rebound, combined with known impact parameters, to obtain accurate rebound data.
Precautions for using rubber rebound tester:
1. Instrument status check: Before each test, it should be confirmed that the instrument is in a horizontal state to ensure the stability and reliability of the testing environment.
2. Sample requirements: The sample should be flat and free of defects, with uniform thickness, to avoid affecting the test results due to problems with the sample itself.
3. Operating standards: Avoid intervening when the pendulum swings or other moving parts are not stopped, to prevent equipment damage or personal injury. Follow the operating instructions of the instrument correctly and do not change the set parameters arbitrarily, unless there are special testing requirements and guidance from professional personnel.
4. Environmental factor control: Pay attention to the impact of environmental temperature and humidity on test results, try to conduct tests under constant environmental conditions, and indicate the current environmental temperature and humidity conditions when recording data for subsequent analysis and comparison.
5. Equipment maintenance and upkeep: Regularly clean and maintain the rubber rebound gauge to keep it in good working condition. Clean the dust and debris inside the instrument in a timely manner, check whether each component is connected and functioning properly, and repair or replace it promptly if there are any abnormalities.
6. Safety protection: During use, operators should pay attention to safety and avoid being pinched or hit by moving parts. Especially when starting and stopping the instrument, be careful to ensure that your hands and other body parts are away from the danger zone.
