The mineral or metal content of most natural mineral deposits is not high. Therefore, ore grading and mineral selection are necessary processes for manufacturing the final product (i.e. metal) using raw materials. Although handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers can easily determine the elemental composition of most low concentration natural samples, their application in concentrate samples may be more challenging.
In the previous issue, we delved deeper intoApplication of Niton Handheld XRF Analyzer in Precious Metal ExplorationIn this issue, we will exploreHow to analyze concentrate and control grade accurately and easily using handheld XRF.
Application of Handheld XRF Analyzer in Mining
At various stages of mining activities (from grassroots exploration to mining, ore grade control, and even environmental investigation),Handheld XRF can provide fast and accurate elemental analysis resultsAnd it does not require or only requires minimal sample preparation. The Niton handheld XRF analyzer is widely used in the global mining industry to measure various elements from magnesium (Mg) to uranium (U).Niton XRF analyzer provides excellent detection limit (LOD)Within a wide range of samplesProvide accurate resultsAnd significantlyshortenThe Data Collectiontime.

Conclusion of this article
Handheld XRF is a very reliable and effective tool,Can be analyzed from the exploration stage(Low grade)At the stage of ore grading(High grade)ofVarious mineral deposits or metal ore samplesFor concentrated mineral samples of heavy metals, the "user method" can replace non-standard basic parameter calibration methods and provide more accurate results for molybdenum or lead concentrates. Once the 'user method' is uploaded, these results willDirectly displayed on the analyzer,Thus providing real-time information needed on the production line to maintain correct grade control.
