Accurate control of water level is crucial in various systems involving liquid storage and processing, as it relates to the safe and stable operation of the system as well as the normal order of production and life. The water level float switch, as a commonly used water level control device, is like a silently guarding liquid level "sentinel", constantly monitoring changes in water level and providing reliable guarantees for people's production and life.
The water level float switch is usually composed of a float component and a switch component. Its working principle is based on buoyancy and leverage principles. When the liquid level rises or falls, the float will rise or fall accordingly, and the motion will be converted into a switch operation through a mechanical connection device. According to Archimedes' law, the buoyancy of an object partially immersed in a liquid is equal to the weight of the liquid it discharges, so the buoyancy of a floating ball in a liquid is proportional to the height of the liquid level. When the liquid level rises, the buoyancy of the floating ball increases, causing it to float upwards and push the lever to trigger the switch action; When the liquid level drops, the float sinks, the lever returns to its initial state, and the switch resets.
The water level float switch has many significant advantages. It has a simple structure, reliable operation, and does not require external energy supply. It can operate stably relying solely on buoyancy and leverage principles, which enables it to maintain good working conditions under various environmental conditions. It has multifunctionality and can be customized according to needs to adapt to the measurement and control of different liquids. Whether it is ordinary liquid, corrosive liquid or high-temperature liquid, it can all play a role and is widely used in various liquid storage and treatment systems such as water tanks, sedimentation tanks, chemical treatment equipment, steam boilers, etc. It can be used to monitor liquid level, control liquid supply or discharge, and issue corresponding alarms or operations when the liquid level reaches the preset value.
However, the water level float switch also has some limitations. Due to the use of mechanical connection devices, prolonged use can lead to mechanical wear and tear, thereby reducing the sensitivity and stability of the switch. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly maintain and upkeep it to ensure its normal operation. It usually determines the level of liquid through discrete switch operations and cannot provide accurate continuous measurements. In some applications that require high-precision measurement, other types of water level sensors may need to be used.
