Determination method for electrolyte of XG612 automatic trace moisture analyzer

1、 Automatic micro moisture analyzer checks for electrolyte failure

Poor sealing, prolonged storage time, and excessive experimental consumption (most domestic reagents can react with about 200mg of water per 100mL of reagent) can all lead to electrolyte failure. It is strictly prohibited to continue using the electrolyte after it has failed, otherwise iodine will precipitate and adhere to the electrodes inside the electrolysis (the electrolysis electrode will change from bright white to black brown), affecting measurement accuracy, and in severe cases, it may cause the electrolysis electrode to be scrapped.

2、 Method for determining electrolyte failure of automatic micro moisture analyzer

When the new electrolyte is just poured out of the reagent bottle, it is in a state of over iodine and appears reddish brown. If the color is light yellow, it indicates that too much water has been adsorbed, and the service life of the electrolyte will be shortened or even invalidated.

2.Automatic micro moisture analyzerIn the normal electrolysis process, if the color of the electrolyte changes from light yellow to turbid brown, or if black brown substances (iodine) appear on the platinum mesh of the cathode chamber, it indicates that the electrolyte has begun to fail.

When the instrument is electrolyzing at a fast speed (such as electrolysis speed greater than 20 μ g/s), turn off the stirring and wait for about 10 seconds before resuming stirring. Observe the platinum mesh below the anode chamber. If there is a flocculent dark red substance (iodine), the electrolyte is normal. Otherwise, the electrolyte will fail.

4. Use 100 μ g pure water to calibrate the instrument. At this time, the maximum electrolysis rate should be greater than 6 μ g/s. If the maximum electrolysis rate is lower than 2 μ g/s, it indicates a decrease in electrolyte sensitivity and approaching the end of its lifespan.

5. Some test samples may have side reactions with the electrolyte, which can reduce the sensitivity of the electrolyte, decrease the reproducibility of the measurement results, take too long to reach the endpoint, and shorten the lifespan of the electrolyte.

3、 Automatic micro moisture analyzer checks the sealing condition of the electrolytic cell

Regularly (weekly) check the sealing condition of the electrolytic cell grinding port. If there is insufficient sealing, missing vacuum grease, or the grinding port cannot be easily rotated, vacuum grease should be reapplied to the corresponding grinding port.
