Construction and use of compact multifunctional vortex mixer
Construction characteristics
drive system
Motor and Control: Adopting DC brushless motor or microcomputer control technology to ensure stable rotation. For example, the VM2500 model is equipped with strong power and provides fast and efficient mixing.
Speed regulation: Stepless speed regulation is achieved through a knob or LED display, usually ranging from 0-3000rpm, and some models such as VM2500-2 can reach 0-2500rpm.
work platform
Removable design: Supports multiple workbench forms, such as bowl shaped, flat or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) workbench, to adapt to different containers.
Amplitude and orbit: The diameter of a circular orbit is usually 3.8-4.5mm, ensuring the formation of effective vortices in the liquid.
Accessories and fixtures
Diversified accessories: including universal fixtures, test tube gaskets (6-hole, 24 hole, etc.), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay plate fixtures, magnetic stirring tables, etc., suitable for containers such as microplates, test tubes, centrifuge tubes, and beakers.
Automatic speed limit function: Some fixtures have automatic speed limit function to ensure experimental safety.
Body and Protection
Compact design: With a small size (such as VM2500 measuring 115 × 230 × 60mm), it is easy to move and store.
Protection level: usually IP21 or higher, dustproof and splash proof, suitable for laboratory environment.
Usage steps
preparation
Placing the instrument: Place the instrument on a stable workbench and ensure that the power cord is well grounded.
Select accessories: Install appropriate fixtures or workbenches according to experimental requirements, such as test tube gaskets or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay plate fixtures.
Startup and Settings
Power on: Turn on the power switch and the instrument enters standby mode.
Selection mode: Select continuous mode or jog mode according to experimental requirements.
Adjusting the speed: Set the speed through a knob or digital display screen, usually within the range of 0-3000rpm.
Sample placement and mixing
Place samples: Place containers such as test tubes, centrifuge tubes, or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay plates in the fixture, ensuring that the bottom of the container is in contact with the center of the top of the cap.
Start mixing:
Continuous mode: Press the start button to keep the instrument running continuously.
Jogging mode: Press the container lightly with your hand, and the instrument will start running. Release it and stop.
Monitoring and adjustment
Observing the mixing effect: During the mixing process, the degree of mixing can be monitored as needed.
Adjust parameters: If you need to adjust the speed or time, you can operate it at any time.
End operation
Stop the instrument: Press the stop button to turn off the power switch.
Take out the sample: Open the instrument cover and take out the well mixed container.
Precautions
safe operation
Avoid finger contact with rotating parts to prevent injury.
Ensure that the container is securely placed to prevent it from flying out.
Sample processing
The sample size should not be too full to avoid overflow during vortexing.
Ensure that the container lid is tightened to prevent liquid leakage.
instrument maintenance
Regularly clean the surface of the instrument and workbench to prevent residue accumulation.
Check the status of the power cord and plug to ensure safety and reliability.
Environmental Requirements
The instrument should be placed in a dry, cool, and ventilated place to avoid moisture or heat.
The ambient temperature is usually between 5-65 ℃ and the relative humidity is less than 85%.
Common problems and solutions
Poor mixing effect
Reason: Insufficient rotational speed, unstable container placement, excessive sample volume.
Solution: Increase the rotational speed, reposition the container, and reduce the sample size.
The instrument cannot be started
Reason: Power supply not connected, motor malfunction.
Solution: Check the power cord and contact the manufacturer for repair.
Excessive noise
Reason: Loose components, motor malfunction.
Solution: Tighten the components and contact the manufacturer for repairs.
