OLED display screen water vapor transmittance testerIt is a precision instrument specialized in measuring the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of OLED packaging materials or display film. Its core function is to simulate specific temperature and humidity environments, quantitatively detect the barrier performance of materials against water vapor, and provide key data support for the reliability evaluation of OLED devices.
This tester is generally based on the principle of electrolytic testing, in which the material to be tested (such as packaging film, display screen protective film) is clamped between constant temperature and humidity test chambers, forming a humidity difference between the high humidity side and the low humidity side. Water vapor diffuses and permeates from the high humidity side to the low humidity side under the influence of humidity gradient. The infiltrated water vapor is carried by a dry carrier gas to an electrolytic sensor, where it is converted into an electric current signal through an electrolytic reaction, and WVTR is directly calculated.
The importance of OLED display screen water vapor permeability tester:
1. Ensuring the lifespan and performance of OLED devices: OLED devices are extremely sensitive to water vapor, which can cause oxidation of metal electrodes and degradation of organic layers, leading to issues such as dark spots and short circuits, significantly reducing display quality and lifespan. The industry recognized WVTR target is 1 × 10 ⁻⁶ g/(m ² · day) to achieve a minimum lifespan of 10000 hours for OLED devices. The measuring instrument ensures that the packaging material meets this requirement through precise measurement.
2. Optimize materials and processes: Test the WVTR of different packaging materials (such as polymer films and inorganic layer composite films) to screen for materials with better barrier properties. By testing WVTR under different packaging processes (such as coating thickness and lamination conditions), optimizing process parameters and improving product consistency.
3. Meet regulatory and market requirements: By conducting tests that comply with ISO, ASTM, and other standards, ensure that the product meets domestic and international regulatory requirements and avoids market risks. High precision WVTR data is an important indicator of product performance, which helps enterprises gain an advantage in the high (segmented) end market.
4. Supporting multi domain applications: The measuring instrument can evaluate the water vapor barrier performance of flexible OLED packaging materials, promoting the development of new display technologies. In addition, the instrument can also be extended to applications in solar cell backplates, electronic component packaging, and other fields to evaluate the long-term barrier ability of materials against water vapor.
