What are the common faults of atomic absorption spectrometer
Date: 2025-12-08Read: 0
Atomic absorption spectrometerAAS is a precision instrument used to detect the content of metal elements in substances, widely used in fields such as environmental monitoring, food safety, and drug analysis. The core principle is to determine the element content by measuring the absorption degree of the characteristic spectral lines of the ground state atoms, which has the characteristics of high sensitivity and good accuracy.
The common faults of atomic absorption spectrometer are mainly concentrated in the light source, atomization system, optical path and detection system, gas path and control system, etc.
Common hollow cathode lamps in light source systems exhibit energy attenuation, spectral line drift, or flickering abnormalities. It is necessary to regularly monitor the relationship between lamp current and spectral intensity, and replace the lamp or adjust the lamp holder position if necessary.
The high-frequency fault of the atomization system is the blockage of the atomizer, manifested as fluctuations in absorbance or signal attenuation, which requires regular soaking and cleaning with dilute acid solution. Combustion head pollution can also reduce flame stability, and the nozzle surface needs to be cleaned.
Optical path and detection system faults include grating misalignment leading to a decrease in spectral resolution, which requires professional calibration; Narrow slit pollution affects signal acquisition and needs to be cleaned with anhydrous ethanol; Detector failures often manifest as baseline drift or increased noise, and it is necessary to check the grounding system and electromagnetic shielding status.
Malfunctions in the gas path and control system, such as gas path leaks, can cause unstable flames. It is necessary to regularly use leak detectors to test the sealing of the interface; Control system failures often manifest as software errors or program crashes, requiring firmware updates and system self-test programs.
