Guidelines for on-site operation, calibration, and maintenance of portable dust concentration measuring instruments
Date: 2025-09-05Read: 0
1、 On site operation standards
Power-on preparation
Check the battery level to ensure sufficient charging to avoid measurement interruption or data deviation.
Select suitable sensors and probes based on the type of dust to be tested, such as anti-static sensors for metal dust and corrosion-resistant probes for organic dust.
After turning on the power, preheat the instrument for 5-10 minutes to a stable state, avoiding interference from low temperature or humid environments.
Measurement settings
Set the sampling time (usually 3-5 minutes) and frequency (dynamically adjusted according to dust concentration, shortening the interval in high concentration environments).
When selecting the measurement location, avoid air vents, ventilation openings, or areas with frequent human movement. The sampling height should be 1.5-2 meters above the ground to reflect the concentration of human respiratory altitude.
After starting the measurement, keep the instrument stable and avoid vibration or strong magnetic field interference. Record the data after the reading stabilizes (usually 1-2 minutes).
data management
Real time recording of measurement values, including time, location, and concentration (mg/m ³).
Utilize the instrument data storage function to backup historical records, facilitating subsequent analysis of trends or comparison of rectification effects.
2、 Calibration process
Pre calibration inspection
Confirm that the calibration gas (such as a standard dust source) is within its validity period and has an accurate concentration.
Check the appearance of the instrument for any damage, and ensure that the sensors and optical system are clean and free of dirt.
Calibration steps
Enter calibration mode and set target concentration parameters.
Place the instrument in a constant temperature and humidity calibration environment, and introduce a standard dust source to the calibration point concentration.
Complete calibration according to the instrument prompts, record the results and generate a report. If the deviation exceeds ± 5%, recalibration is required.
calibration cycle
Perform a comprehensive calibration before use, after replacing the sensor, or every 3 months.
After use in high humidity or corrosive environments, the calibration interval should be shortened to one month.
3、 Maintenance Guide
Daily cleaning
After each use, wipe the surface of the instrument with a dry soft cloth, and gently wipe the sensor part with a 50% alcohol solution to avoid liquid infiltration.
When the optical window is contaminated, wipe it unidirectionally with a cotton swab dipped in distilled water, and it is strictly prohibited to use oily solvents.
regular maintenance
Check the air filter every quarter, rinse or replace it with clean water when it is clogged, and ensure smooth air intake.
When storing for a long time, remove the battery and place it in a dry and cool place, avoiding direct sunlight or high temperatures (>40 ℃).
Fault handling
When the display is abnormal, restart the instrument. If it still cannot be resolved, check the sensor connection or contact the manufacturer for repair.
When there is a large deviation in the measured values, calibrate the instrument first. If the problem persists, replace the aging sensor.
