The carbon sulfur analyzer has the following technical characteristics
Date: 2025-06-12Read: 1
Carbon sulfur analyzerIt is an instrument used for quantitative analysis of carbon and sulfur elements in steel materials and other substances, and is widely used in industrial production and scientific research fields. Its working principle is based on combustion method. The carrier gas (oxygen) is purified and introduced into a combustion furnace (resistance furnace or high-frequency furnace). The sample is oxidized by oxygen at high temperatures in the combustion furnace, and carbon and sulfur are converted into carbon dioxide (CO ₂) and sulfur dioxide (SO ₂), respectively. After passing through dust removal and water purification devices, the generated oxides are loaded into a sulfur detection tank for sulfur measurement. Afterwards, the mixed gas enters the heated catalyst furnace, where CO is converted to CO ₂ and SO ₂ is converted to SO3. It then enters the desulfurization reagent tube and is introduced into the carbon detection cell for carbon measurement. The residual gas is emitted outdoors, and the analysis results are displayed in the form of% C and% S on the host LCD screen and computer monitor and stored.
Carbon sulfur analyzerIts technical characteristics are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. High precision and high sensitivity
Low detection limit:
Can detect extremely low levels of carbon and sulfur (such as ppm or even lower), meeting the requirements of trace analysis.
For example, the detection limit of infrared (IR) method can reach 0.1 ppm, and high-frequency combustion method (such as CSA) can detect up to 0.001% level.
Strong anti-interference ability:
Using specific wavelength infrared detectors or ultraviolet fluorescence technology to avoid interference from other elements or gases on the measurement results.
2. Multiple analysis principles and methods
Mainstream technology route:
Infrared absorption method (IR): Based on the absorption characteristics of CO ₂ and SO ₂ at specific infrared wavelengths, it is suitable for the determination of carbon and sulfur in solid and liquid samples.
UV Fluorescence Method: Quantifying sulfur content through the UV fluorescence effect of sulfur oxides (SO ₂), with high sensitivity.
High frequency induction combustion method (HF Carbon/Sulfur Analyzer): The sample is burned in a high-temperature oxygen flow to generate CO ₂ and SO ₂ gases, which are then analyzed by a detection system.
Multi element joint testing:
Some instruments can simultaneously analyze carbon, sulfur, and other elements (such as nitrogen and oxygen) to improve detection efficiency.
3. Automation and Intelligence
Automatic sampling and operation:
Equipped with an automatic weighing system, robotic arm, or rotating sample tray to achieve unmanned analysis of batch samples.
The software controls the testing process and automatically completes steps such as combustion, gas collection, and data processing.
Data Management and Compliance:
Built in database and standard curves, supporting data export (such as Excel, PDF), audit trails, and GLP/GMP compliance reports.
Some instruments have remote diagnosis and calibration functions for easy maintenance.
4. Quick analysis and efficient performance
Fast analysis speed:
The single analysis time is usually tens of seconds to minutes, which is suitable for high-throughput detection needs.
For example, the high-frequency combustion method only takes 1-2 minutes for a single analysis.
Multi sample processing capability:
Can continuously analyze multiple samples (such as 30-60 per hour), supporting automated assembly line operations.
5. Wide sample adaptability
Applicable sample types:
Solid samples: metals, ores, ceramics, catalysts, etc.
Liquid samples: petroleum, lubricating oil, electrolyte, etc. (requiring a matching liquid injection system).
Gas samples: exhaust gas, industrial exhaust gas (gas sampling module required).
Flexible sample form:
Powder, particle, and block samples can be directly analyzed without the need for complex pretreatment (some instruments require grinding or compression).
6. Reliability and Durability
High temperature resistant design:
Key components such as combustion tubes and infrared cells are made of high-temperature resistant materials (such as ceramics and platinum) to adapt to the high temperature environment generated by high-frequency combustion (up to 1800 ℃).
Self cleaning function:
Automatic blowing or back blowing to clean the gas path, reducing the impact of residual gas on subsequent testing.
Regular calibration prompts to ensure long-term stability.
7. Safety and Environmental Design
Security protection:
Equipped with gas leak alarm, emergency stop button, protective cover and other devices to prevent high temperature or toxic gas leakage.
Exhaust gas treatment system: Treating SO ₂ and CO ₂ through alkali absorption or catalytic conversion devices to avoid environmental pollution.
Low energy consumption and energy-saving mode:
Automatically enter low-power mode during standby to reduce energy consumption.
8. User friendliness
Intuitive operation interface:
The touch screen or software interface is simple and supports multiple languages such as Chinese/English, making it easy for operators to use.
Modular design:
Accessories (such as automatic sampler, liquid sampler, exhaust gas treatment unit, etc.) can be selected according to needs to flexibly expand functions.
