Hydrogen, as an efficient and clean energy source, is widely used in scientific research, industrial production, and other fields. However, due to its flammable and explosive properties (explosion limit of 4.0% -75.6%), the safe operation of Huilong hydrogen generators is crucial. To prevent combustion accidents caused by hydrogen leakage and ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and property, it is necessary to strictly comply with the following anti leakage and explosion-proof operation specifications.
1、 Leak prevention: blocking risks from the source
Hydrogen leakage is the primary hidden danger causing safety accidents, and a protective system needs to be constructed from three aspects: equipment inspection, operation procedures, and environmental monitoring.
Equipment pre-processing and daily inspection: Before starting up, carefully check the critical parts of the generator, such as pipeline interfaces, valves, sealing rings, etc., to ensure that there is no looseness, aging, or damage. Focus on inspecting the connection between the electrolytic cell and the gas circuit. If the sealing ring is deformed or the interface is corroded, the accessories should be replaced immediately. It is strictly prohibited to operate with defects. Before daily operation, it is recommended to apply soapy water to areas that are prone to leakage and observe for the formation of bubbles. If there is a leak, the machine should be shut down for maintenance and the problem should be resolved before starting.
Standardized operation and pressure control: During operation, pressure parameters must be strictly set according to the equipment manual. The working pressure of the Huilong hydrogen generator usually does not exceed 0.4MPa, and overpressure operation is strictly prohibited. When adjusting pressure, the valve should be operated slowly to avoid loosening of pipeline joints due to sudden pressure rise. When shutting down, the gas production switch should be turned off first. After the system pressure drops to a safe range, the power should be cut off to prevent residual pressure from damaging the sealing components.
Environmental monitoring and ventilation guarantee: The generator should be installed in an independent space with good ventilation and away from fire sources to avoid the accumulation of hydrogen gas in a closed environment. It is recommended to equip a hydrogen leak detector with an alarm threshold (usually not exceeding 1% VOL). When the detector issues an alarm, the machine should be stopped immediately and the exhaust equipment should be turned on to investigate the leak point. Repair should be carried out only when the hydrogen concentration drops below the safe value.
2、 Explosion proof: Multi directional avoidance of combustion and explosion risks
After mixing hydrogen with air to the explosive limit, it is highly likely to cause explosions when exposed to fire sources, static electricity, or high temperatures. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen explosion-proof measures from three aspects: fire source control, static electricity protection, and equipment maintenance.
Strict fire source control: Smoking, use of open flames, or carrying flammable and explosive materials are strictly prohibited within a 5-meter radius of the generator. Non explosion proof electrical appliances (such as ordinary lighting fixtures and sockets) are also prohibited. If welding, cutting and other hot work operations are required, the hot work approval must be obtained in advance, the combustible materials on site must be cleared, and fire extinguishing equipment (such as dry powder fire extinguishers, carbon dioxide fire extinguishers) must be equipped. After the operation, the hydrogen concentration must be continuously monitored for more than 30 minutes.
Strengthen electrostatic protection: Hydrogen gas is prone to static electricity when flowing at high speed in pipelines. It is necessary to ensure that the grounding device of the generator is intact, with a grounding resistance of no more than 4 Ω, and regularly check whether the grounding circuit is loose. Operators should wear anti-static work clothes and shoes, avoid wearing synthetic clothing, and prevent human static electricity from igniting hydrogen gas. When connecting equipment to pipelines, copper or stainless steel connectors should be used to reduce static electricity generated by friction.
Regular maintenance and emergency response: The safety valve and pressure gauge of the generator need to be calibrated monthly to ensure their sensitivity and reliability; Clean up impurities in the electrolytic cell every quarter, check the condition of the electrodes, and prevent malfunctions caused by local overheating. If a hydrogen explosion accident occurs, the power and gas sources should be immediately cut off, fire extinguishing equipment should be used to extinguish the flames, on-site personnel should be evacuated, and professional maintenance personnel should be contacted to investigate the cause of the accident. It is strictly prohibited to restart the equipment before the hidden dangers are eliminated.
The safe operation of Huilong hydrogen generator relies on standardized operating procedures and rigorous safety awareness. Operators need to keep in mind the principle of "prevention first, combination of prevention and control", and integrate leak prevention and explosion prevention measures throughout the entire process of equipment operation. Regular safety training and emergency drills should be carried out to effectively ensure production safety and enable hydrogen energy to play an efficient value on the premise of safety.
