Daily maintenance of RIE reactive ion etching machine
Date: 2025-04-26Read: 2
RIEReactive ion etching machineMolecular gas plasma is used for etching in a vacuum system, which utilizes ion induced chemical reactions to achieve anisotropic etching. That is, ion energy is used to form an easily etched damage layer on the surface of the etched layer and promote chemical reactions. At the same time, ions can also remove surface products to expose a clean etched surface.
  RIEReactive ion etching machineMaintenance method:
1. Regularly clean the inner and outer surfaces. Use appropriate cleaning agents and soft cloths to clean the vacuum chamber, electrodes, ion source, and other critical components.
2. Regularly verify various parameters and sensors of the equipment to ensure their accuracy and precision. Calibration includes checking and adjusting parameters such as ion beam energy, ion beam uniformity, gas flow rate, and radio frequency power.
During use, attention should be paid to protecting key components of the equipment, such as ion sources, electrodes, and vacuum chambers. Avoid using excessive power and ion beam energy to prevent component damage or premature wear. Be sure to use appropriate gases and chemicals to avoid corrosion or damage to equipment.
When operating equipment, relevant safety operating procedures and manuals should be followed. Use personal protective equipment such as safety goggles, gloves, and protective clothing. Ensure that the working area around the equipment is clean, free of obstacles, and avoid using damaged or substandard accessories and supplies.
5. Regularly conduct equipment inspections, including checking the operating status of the vacuum system, gas supply system, RF power supply, and control system. Check and replace worn or aged components to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
