The Hohhot Branch of China Agricultural Machinery Academy was founded in 1960 and was approved by the former Ministry of Agricultural Machinery with the document No. 77 of Agricultural Machinery Gan Xu Zi (1960). Formerly known as Inner Mongolia Livestock Machinery Research Institute, Hohhot Livestock Machinery Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, etc. On December 7, 1998, the former State Administration of Machinery Industry approved the merger of the China Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Science and the Hohhot Livestock Machinery Research Institute with the State Machinery Reform (1998) No. 568 document, and the Hohhot Livestock Machinery Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry was merged into the China Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Science and Technology. On January 7, 2000, the former State Economic and Trade Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China issued the Notice on Issuing the Transformation Plan for Part of the Scientific Research Institutions under 10 National Bureaus Managed by the State Economic and Trade Commission (2000) No. 16, which determined that the Hohhot Livestock Machinery Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry would be merged into the China Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Science and Technology, named the Hohhot Branch of the China Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Science and Technology, and transformed into a science and technology enterprise directly under the central government. The Hohhot branch is located at No. 506 Zhaowuda Road, Saihan District, Hohhot City, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The main campus and its subordinate Hailar Experimental Station area cover an area of 140000 square meters and have Hohhot pilot production base, Saihantala wind energy experimental field, forest breeding technology and equipment experimental field, Hailar low-temperature environment experimental station, and science and technology demonstration farm, covering a total area of more than 7000 hectares. At present, Hohhot Branch has 5 wholly-owned subsidiaries, 3 holding companies, 7 research institutes, centers, etc., with 693 employees, including 164 technical developers, 10 researchers, 7 government special allowances issued by the State Council, and 68 senior engineers. Hohhot Branch is a technology-based enterprise engaged in research and development of animal husbandry equipment and has the right to self operate import and export business. It is also one of the earliest research units engaged in renewable energy utilization technology research. Hohhot Branch is a supporting unit of the National Grassland Livestock Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, Inner Mongolia Livestock Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, and Inner Mongolia New Energy Engineering Technology Research Center. It is also the technical centralized unit of the national livestock machinery industry. The public welfare institutions relying on our institute mainly include the National Wind Machinery Standardization Technical Committee, the Livestock Machinery Branch of the China Agricultural Machinery Society, the Machinery Industry Livestock Machinery Product Quality Supervision and Testing Center, and the Machinery Industry Wind Machinery Product Quality Supervision and Testing Center. Since its establishment, Hohhot Branch has formed a comprehensive professional system that meets the needs of China's animal husbandry development, including grassland construction and improvement technology and equipment, forage harvesting and storage technology and equipment, forage seed processing technology and equipment, forage preparation and deep processing technology and equipment, straw feed conversion technology and equipment, livestock product collection and deep processing technology and equipment, livestock and poultry breeding technology and equipment, and research and development of renewable energy application technology and equipment such as wind and solar energy; Created a group of professional and technical talents with high academic level; A total of 835 scientific research and technological development projects have been completed, including 90 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievement awards, and 67 patents and proprietary technologies. Hohhot Branch has gradually improved various management rules and regulations to adapt to the market economy system.
