Crucible sample muffle furnaceThe core of maintenance is to protect the furnace, circuits, and accessories, extend their service life, and ensure detection accuracy. The key techniques revolve around cleaning, inspection, and standardized operation.

1、 Daily cleaning of furnace

After each use, wait for the furnace to cool to room temperature and use a brush to remove any residual sample powder or slag inside, to avoid carbon buildup or impurities affecting heating uniformity.

If there are stubborn attachments, gently wipe with a clean cotton cloth dipped in a small amount of alcohol. Do not use sharp tools to scrape the inner wall of the furnace (to prevent damage to refractory materials).

2、 Heating element and circuit maintenance

Regularly check the connection of heating wires and thermocouples to ensure that the wiring is secure, free from looseness, oxidation, and corrosion. If any breakage or aging is found, replace them promptly.

Clean the dust from the control panel and wiring terminals to avoid short circuits caused by dust accumulation. Check the insulation of the power lines once a month.

3、 Crucible and accessory maintenance

Choose crucibles that are compatible with the sample (such as ceramic or corundum materials), avoid using damaged or cracked crucibles, and prevent leakage and damage to the furnace during sample melting.

The sealing gasket of the furnace door needs to be inspected regularly. If aging, deformation or damage occurs, it should be replaced in a timely manner to ensure the sealing of the furnace and reduce heat loss.

4、 Operation status monitoring and maintenance

Regularly calibrate the temperature display to ensure that the actual temperature is consistent with the set temperature (which can be compared with a standard thermometer), and adjust the temperature controller parameters in a timely manner if deviations are found.

Avoid long-term overheating and overload operation. After each use, wait for the furnace to cool naturally before turning off the power. It is forbidden to directly cut off the power or open the furnace door during high temperatures.

5、 Long term idle maintenance

When idle for more than one month, the furnace and accessories need to be cleaned, the power supply disconnected, and dust prevention measures taken.

Before restarting, run the instrument without load for 30 minutes (gradually heating up), check that all functions of the instrument are normal, and then put it into use.
