The core of environmental control for specific heat capacity detectors is to uphold the bottom line of "precise quantification, stable and undisturbed", and all standards are formulated around reducing environmental interference on test data.
The temperature control must be strictly controlled at 23 ± 2 ℃, and the temperature fluctuation per hour during the entire testing process cannot exceed ± 0.5 ℃, otherwise the adiabatic balance of the calorimeter will be disrupted. The relative humidity should be maintained at 50 ± 5%, and the daily humidity fluctuation should not exceed ± 3% RH. If the humidity is too high, it will cause the circuit to become damp and the sensor probe to condense. If it is too low, it is easy to generate static electricity, which affects data acquisition. The temperature difference within each area of the laboratory should be controlled within 1 ℃, and the humidity difference should not exceed 2% RH. At least 2 monitoring points should be set up within 1 meter around the equipment to ensure consistent environment.
Environmental interference prevention and control cannot be ignored. The dust concentration in the air must be ≤ 0.1mg/m ³, and an efficient air filter must be installed. Materials that are prone to dust generation should not be piled up in the testing area, as dust sticking to the calorimeter or sensor will affect accuracy. The equipment should be kept away from strong electromagnetic sources such as welding machines and high-power transformers, at least 5 meters away. The power supply system should be equipped with electromagnetic shielding devices, and the power supply voltage fluctuation should be controlled within ± 5% to avoid electromagnetic interference causing data disorder. The environmental vibration acceleration should not exceed 0.1g, and equipment such as centrifuges and vacuum pumps that vibrate during operation should not be placed on the equipment table, otherwise it will affect the sealing of the calorimeter chamber.
There are clear requirements for equipment placement, with a ventilation space of ≥ 30cm around the perimeter, and the back and top should be at least 50cm away from walls and ceilings to ensure heat dissipation of the constant temperature module. The equipment must be placed horizontally, with a table level error of less than or equal to 0.2mm/m. Tilting can cause poor contact between the sample and the heating module. Also, avoid direct sunlight and use a soft diffuse light source in the laboratory to prevent abnormal temperature rise in the calorimeter.
Sample pretreatment must also be carried out according to standards. The test sample should be placed in the above environment for 12 hours, and large samples with a volume exceeding 100cm ³ should be extended to 24 hours. The pretreatment area and testing area should be consistent, and the sample that has just been taken out of the high and low temperature environment cannot be directly placed in the testing chamber.
In terms of monitoring, temperature and humidity are recorded every 30 minutes, electromagnetic interference and vibration are measured once a month, and dust is measured once a quarter. Monitoring instruments need to be sent to metrology institutions for calibration every year. Once environmental parameters exceed the standard, testing must be immediately suspended. After the environment returns to standard, sample pretreatment can be carried out again before testing.
