Fully automatic motion viscosity meterIt is the core equipment for detecting liquid viscosity in industries such as petroleum, chemical, and food. It can automatically complete processes such as constant temperature, timing, and calculation, with efficient and accurate operation. The following is a simple and easy to understand step-by-step operation guide, which beginners can also quickly get started with:
1、 Preparation before operation
Equipment inspection: Place the instrument on a horizontal and stable table, confirm that the power and data cables are connected properly, turn on the main power, preheat for 10 minutes, and check whether the display screen parameters (constant temperature, timing mode) are normal and there are no error prompts.
Sample preparation: Take an appropriate amount of the sample to be tested (such as lubricating oil, diesel, etc.), filter and remove impurities (to avoid clogging the capillary tube of the viscometer), ensure that the sample temperature is close to room temperature. If the sample is prone to solidification, it can be slightly heated to a flowing state in advance.
Cleaning of viscometer: Rinse the capillary tube of the viscometer with anhydrous ethanol, and then dry it with a hair dryer to ensure that there is no residual liquid or oil in the tube to avoid affecting the detection results.
2、 Core operational steps
Set parameters: Select the detection standard (such as GB/T 265, ASTM D445) on the instrument display screen, set the constant temperature (commonly 40 ℃, 100 ℃, adjusted according to sample requirements), and confirm that the timing mode is "automatic timing".
Inject sample: Install the cleaned viscometer onto the instrument sample holder and slowly inject the sample into the viscometer through a syringe or funnel until the sample liquid level reaches the scale line (be careful not to generate bubbles, if there are bubbles, use a suction ball to remove them).
Start constant temperature: Press the "constant temperature" button, and the instrument will start heating and maintain the set temperature. Wait for the display screen to show "constant temperature completed" (usually takes 15-30 minutes), ensuring that the sample temperature is consistent with the set temperature.
Automatic detection: After the constant temperature is completed, press the "Start Test" button, and the instrument will automatically start the liquid flow timer. The optical sensor will detect the flow time of the sample in the capillary tube and automatically calculate the kinematic viscosity value (without manual timing or calculation).
View results: After the test is completed, the display screen will directly show the kinematic viscosity value of the sample. The test report can be printed using the "print" button, or the data can be exported to the computer for storage.
3、 Closing after operation
Sample cleaning: Remove the viscometer, thoroughly rinse the capillary with anhydrous ethanol, then rinse with distilled water (for water-soluble samples), blow dry and store properly.
Equipment shutdown: Turn off the heating function of the instrument, wait for the temperature to drop to room temperature, turn off the main power, and disconnect the data and power cables.
Daily maintenance: Regularly clean the instrument casing and sample holder, check whether the capillary tube of the viscometer is worn, and replace it in a timely manner if it is blocked or damaged; When the instrument is not in use for a long time, it should be turned on and run for 30 minutes every month to maintain its performance.
4、 Key precautions
When injecting the sample, there must be no bubbles, otherwise it may cause inaccurate timing and biased test results.
The constant temperature should be strictly set according to the testing standards, and temperature deviation will directly affect the viscosity value.
The viscometer needs to be matched with the test sample (different viscosity ranges correspond to different specifications of capillary tubes) to avoid capillary tubes that are too coarse or too fine to detect.
